"Over the centuries, the old town tavern has been renovated to house some cheap apartments and a summer time cafe. The large terrace built on to the slope makes the cafe busy with customers every summer evening. Thankfully, the old wine cellar below the terrace has been recently transformed to kitchen and this added space allows the cafe's staff serve even greater number of hungry and thirsty customers."
COO: Now that I am publishing this creation (spring 2014), this MOC feels like old relic to me now. I originally build it for Palikkatakomo's collaborative city creations for WeeGee 2012 and Model Expo 2012 events and after these events, the creation was put in display in local toy store Lelu-Tapuli here in Oulu, Finland. It was displayed there for half a year after which it was kept in the storage room of the store due to my lack of storage space. The store had a small renovation work done last year which delayed my retrieving of this creation so now that I finally had to chance to bring Tavern Cafe back at home, it has been on display for nearly two years. Finally I have had the change to take decent pictures of the MOC and publish it to the MOCpages and other LEGO sites...
House can be divided in four parts; roof, second floor, first floor and cellar. The cellar and small part are build in own 32x32 studs large modules and they can be separated as well.
Angled section of wall is based on two 3 wide and 7 long triangles. I used Niels Bugge's hypo-tech achieve the shape. Biggest reason for choosing 3 wide and 7 long triangles was that I could use 3x6 wings easily to create seamless floor area.
