[UPDATE 4/10/17 - Fancy new pictures!] This is my first major Star Wars MOC. It took a couple of weeks and my UCS X-Wing, Y-Wing and AT-ST had to die for the parts, but I'm pretty pleased with it on the whole.
About this creation
Update 4/10/17 – I could never bring myself to take my E-wing apart, especially since my building activity over the last ten years has been rather spotty and I had no real reason to do so. The decision paid off over Christmas when we got a nice camera. Armed with the new camera, my somewhat improved photography skills, and a much better backdrop, I redid the pictures. Curiously, while some of the white bricks yellowed significantly with age, others retained their original color. I have no idea why.
Original pictures below
This is the classic elevated 3/4 shot, and it probably gives the best overall view.
This shot gives a better sense of the side dimensions, since the angle on the first makes the nose look bigger than it is.
Quoting Captain Bo ..
Great job!! Is there an inside to the ship too?
Unfortunately not. I'm thinking about doing a refit, and that's something to think about including.
I also have a much nicer camera than I did when I first made it, so I'm planning on updating the pictures soon.
Very nice! And as Shannon said, I too, know what it is like to have to scrap parts to make something else larger. It's only too bad I have to do that every time I want to build something new (well, I've managed to keep the White Fang, but that's about it)
For a ship of that size, the detailing is perfect. A variety of angles on the fuselage and wings keep the ship from looking blocky, and the placement of colors is perfectly arranged to avoid monotone or confusion.
Great little MOC! Nice combination of clean areas mixed with greebling elsewhere. I like the modest color choices and the downswept wings as well. It' would be nice, personally, to see it studless (just my own preferences coming through here), but regardless, a nicely done ship!!
