Duplo Mother Goose: The Old Woman and the Shoe
About this creation

Hello! I haven't been building in a while because I just welcomed my second daughter back in February of this year. My oldest daughter was (well, still is) having trouble adjusting to her new status as a big sister so I wanted to build something for her to play with. With the new baby, I have been reminded of all the old nursery rhymes that I used to say to my now 4 year old. I decided that it might be fun to recreate some of them in Duplo. I started with the "Old Woman in the Shoe", and built a house in the shape of a boot. The boot has a hollow room in it that you can get to through the door or windows. My four year old had fun playing with it. She peopled the yard and boot with the old woman's children and even did some landscaping. It turned out to be a fun way to spend some time with her and helped a bit (a small bit) with the adjustment!

This is great fun and looks good too. Such smooth curvy shapes from big chunks of Duplo. I think that this is a skilful bit of building.
