About this creation
Hastur had a similar effect on the Bhal'delm mech, though seeing as how it wasn't designed to be used as a portal, He had a more stable and full effect. Naturally he felt right at home. By contrast Hastur is much more sane and sentient than many of the other Great Ones. He's not so malevolent as he is completely alien to anything average sentients could imagine. Regardless, He is now one of the driving forces behind the Entity's forces, for he has the power to induce madness unknown to even the Crimson King's victims, though the Entity does try not to use him when the low- and middle-rank fighters can see him completely, lest they too succumb to the madness he has power over. Hastur especially comes in handy against the most powerful members of the Atlakans' armies, such as those adept at manipulating the elements and reality. When they go mad, their powers do have a tendency to go out of control, either because their wielder's control wavers or his imagination runs amok.

What Hastur does have in common with the other Great Ones is that He's developed a fondness for followers. Their prayer and loyalty is a virtually limitless supply of power and vigor to them. Since Hastur is a rather meticulous and wise being, he doesn't want to be responsible for his worshippers and their safety, but he does want them to be useful in more ways than one and simultaneously be ready to fight for themselves. So he indebted them to him by remaking them in his image and turning them into the so-called Bhal'delm Hounds, a vicious and devout race of beast-like warriors completely enthralled by Hastur's power. The Hounds can also act as a safehouse for Hastur's power, essence and will, just in case the Bhal'delm body is severely damaged. Like most intelligent immortals, Hastur always thinks ahead...
