Ecto-1, 7 studs wide, equipped with Light & Sound functions, able to move via LCS, fits 4 Ghostbusters minifigs and a 9V battery box
About this creation
some of you may know the Ecto-1 already, built in August 2013, at least as a part of the 2013 car collection or from the LCS video where it can be seen moving. Now that it is completed with the printed parts from the amazing Cuusoo/Ideas set 21108 - and those great figs, of course -, it may be worth to be presented as a single MOC.
First off, a credit to my dear friend Brucewaynelego-Toyshansolo who just gave me his own Ecto (and built a new one for himself) so that I could do what can be called a heart transplantation - the whole technical Light & Sound 9V unit is taken out of BWL-THS's Ecto, and I just had to build the car around it.
Btw. the Light & Sound parts which are used surprisingly rarely offer a wide range of functions - for the usual purposes you may omit any third party stuff.
The car is rather a rolling frame, the upper part can be detached to get the figs in and out. Detachable parts:
The car has been reinforced lately so that it can move via LCS for several laps without breaking down too early , but it will be rather a special feature in the future town than moving all the time. Plus it looks quite well together with the figs outside of the car, I think.
@Daniel: Thanks. Yes, that's the road system with propulsion by tread, see http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/380665. @Vinny: Thanks a lot Vinny, glad you like it that much! @david: Yeah, having the figs and printed tiles is fantastic. It is quite stuffed, but there's no room to loose when you want to do something like that. @adam: Thanks a lot! @Frank: Glad you like it!
NICE! glad the set came out and we have access to those cool minifigs. I noticed int he pic it looks like the ENTIRE back of the car is filled to the roofline with the white power functions box. WOW, just barely can get the 4 minifigs in there, huh? Great work on the transplant
Thanks a lot guys! @Dr. Monster: Many thanks! @Nick: Thanks a lot for your kind words. @Cheryl: Thank you very much! Bustin' makes us feel good, I guess. @David: Thanks a lot! @Colby: Many thanks! @Joshua: Glad you like it! @Yann: Many thanks!
