Something I've been working on (surprisingly this only took me three days) I'm waiting on Bricklink orders to come for other MOC's so this was one of few totally Bricklink-less MOC's so all 100% in my collection, no ordered pieces, which is rare for me recently ... YAY!
About this creation
After disappearing from the galaxy for generations the intergalactic criminals known as Blacktron have returned and plan to take over the galaxy one planet at a time.
Their first strike is on the capital city of Planet WUW-794 in which they plan to bring in various military supplies through newly constructed Cargo ships and ultimately launch an all out invasion on the unsuspecting capital city.
Blacktron will stop at nothing, killing anyone who gets in their way, but is their organisation strong enough to take over an entire planet, let alone the galaxy!?
Fourth Wall Commentary:
So I've always loved seeing other's build Vic Vipers, Spaceships, SHIP's, Cruisers etc. and only recently was I able to give one a go (My Classic Space Vic Viper from my last post). Having had a lot of fun from build that I decided to give another a go. Through various searches I came across the image below.
And thought ... YES YES YES I NEED TO BUILD THIS.
So I did and I didn't. I took a lot of inspiration from the picture but didn't really do a total copy. (Sorry I have no idea who's picture this is, I got it from a Google search)
I'm still keen to do more Spaceship's and might try some more soon, but at the moment I'm working on two Bionicle MOC's and my next Collab MOC for Brickvention 2015, so stay tuned for them as they should be next :)
Upon seeing this, my first thought was, "What does Blacktron do with cargo ships?" My second thought was, "Why, they use it to get away with their stolen cargo, of course!" It's a nice MOC in itself, cool how you used to stickers form the different themes.
I see your points about the cargo's colour. Personally my idea was to make it look like they had stolen goods and it actually wasn't something that belonged to them (why it's not black and yellow). Plus I felt doing black and yellow would blend too much with the rest of the MOC. I guess doing darker colours could work... might try that. Although like one comment I got on Flickr said, I was trying to aim for a change from Blacktron ships being all about death and wanted this to look more tame, but still have some of that evil look.
I don't feel that this ship really convey's the Blacktron vibe with those crates. It either needs some paneling to cover them up, or black crates. It's a nice build, and impressive, but the crates seriously detract from the Balcktron vibe.
That is something else. It's like a super-evil super-awesome space train! My favorite part is the window build for the cab, but this thing is really great all over. Long Live Blacktron! Long Live the MX811!
