The Insurgency: Max Power #01: Intro
This is my Character intro for The Insurgency. I will be playing for Aurelia. Eventually my character will be the really cool cyborg seen in this (blurry) picture.
About this creation
Maxwell Bauer was always a bit eccentric. At the Imperium Academy he had a double major in Chemistry and the Culinary Arts. He went on to obtain Master's degrees in both disciplines as well. The Galactic Imperium courted him for a research position in their applied weapons division, but he turned them down.

He went on to discover Heavy Ketchup, a particularly delicious (and expensive) isotope of ketchup. This made him rich beyond his wildest dreams.

He had everything he'd ever wanted.

He had a beautiful fiancee named Meridian, and a loyal cat named Professor Wigglesby

He even had a hologram of a lightsaber (but not a real lightsaber).

He had a brand-new SUX 8 Jillion, one of the fastest hover-sports around.

He had an interplanetary cargo module, which he called Starla.

Starla was highly customized with a deluxe kitchen inside. Professor Wigglesby would often acompany Maxwell to help him with "taste tests."

Starla was also equipped with a state-of-the-art interplanetary engine system. Max could cruise around the moon and be back in about fifteen minutes or so (actually this was pretty much all he used it for).

Instead of a standard cab, Maxwell had Starla further customized so that she could driven by Max's SUX-8J. Maxwell's friends frequently told him that this was the ugliest ship they had ever seen, and in fact Starla had the dubious distinction of being named "Ugliest Interplanetary Vehicle in the Imperium" several years in a row, but Max took it all in stride.

After the Shift, many people suffered, but Maxwell thrived. Starla made interplanetary travel easy. His position as a celebrity chef gave Max unparalleled access to many of the worlds with which the Galactic Imperium negotiated.

One day Maxwell received a strange call. The person on the other line, whose voice was heavily modulated, told Max that Aurelia needed Max's help. If Max was willing to pick up a package on Etrion and deliver it to an Aurelian agent on Earth, Aurelia would in turn give Max information about his brother's whereabouts.

Max had conflicting feelings. He hadn't seen his brother Marcus since two years before the Shift, and Max missed him terribly. On the other hand, Max had prospered under the regime of the Galactic Imperium.

Max quickly made up his mind that his brother was more important to him than his fame and fortune. And besides, who would ever suspect Celebrity Chef Maxwell Bauer.

After catering a GI manufacturer's convention, Max flew Starla to the nearby moon of Etrion. Sure enough, there was a small package waiting for him at the coordinates he had been given. There was no one waiting for him, but Max found it easily enough.

The person on the phone hadn't told Max what was in the package, but given his knowledge of chemistry, Max was pretty sure he knew what it was.

Finally the day came that he was to deliver the package. Conveniently enough, the package was to be delivered to a dinner for music producers that Maxwell himself was catering at one of Max's own restaurants-the Jade Dragon, just outside of London.

Max did not know to whom he would be delivering the package, only that the man would introduce himself to Max as "Deacon Blue."

It was a particularly sunny day. As Max walked across the street to the Jade Dragon, he noticed a peculiar whistling sound. It was coming from above.

Max turned to look up into the sky. He didn't see anything but the whistling was getting louder and louder. No wait! There was a small object in the sky, just about the size of a baggette, descending quickly. It seemed to headed right for Max! Transfixed, unable to conceive that he could be in any danger, Max stood watching the object until...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It blew poor Max to bits.

This is my character
Name: Max Power
Faction: Aurelia

Aurelia

Thanks to RK blast for answersing all of my questions. I'm sure I will have more as time passes.

In the next-to-last picture, you may notice a well-dressed minifig in the background using a holomap (or you may not, that's one of the blurry ones). The holomap was introduce by Kai Bernstein, and will see more use in forthcoming adventures.

Sorry that some of the pictures are blurry. I am still fairly new to taking pictures of LEGO stuff. Any advice on the subject is welcome.

That's all for now, thanks for checking out my stuff. Long Live Aurelia!

Quoting Captain Surge Oh. I just now got the joke. Six 8 million/sucks a million...lol
Oh...uh...that would have been pretty good! Actually the joke was that it had a similar named to the high-performance sports car from Robocop (original version). I think your joke would have been better though!

Thanks man! I tend to overthink everything (even Max's cat has quite an intricate back story) but I really enjoy it...

Quoting El Barto !
Thanks Barto! I appreciate you taking the time to check this out. Yeah, Deacon Blue will return at a later time to be a significant character...I've even considered naming someone the Crimson Tide, although truth be told I'm no fan of Alabama. Steely Dan, though, I am a fan of.

Great backgrounds (I really like the buildings) I wonder how Max becomes the red armor-clad warrior he is in the first picture.

Quoting Nick Barrett Long live Aurelia! An absorbing story too, with plenty of quality builds. As for photo advice, I do mine in a naturally lit room on a brightish day, using the close-up setting on the camera and a plain background. Pretty much everyone takes better pics than me, though...
Thanks, I'll have to mess around with that photo technique and see if I can improve my pictures.

All the builds here are pretty nice, but I don't know what the first image has to do with anything at all in the story.

Thanks everybody, and let explain the first image (I meant to do it at the end of the MOC, but I forgot). The first image is what Max Power will eventually look like, but more to the point: When I was a kid I remember that comic books, adventure novels, and even some movies would have a cover image that had little or nothing to do with the story, or that would be somewhat indicative of the story, but the image would depict events that never specifically happened in the comic/ book/ movie. So this image was inspired by those. I wish it was a sharper picture, but I think next time I'll just crop the image out of a larger, sharper picture. I am tinkering with the idea of trying to do this for all of Insurgency MOC cover images, but we'll see... Again, thanks to those of who commented! And who may comment yet!
