This particular MOC was built right about the time the first few seasons of Voyager was still on the air. It's one of the few creations I have ever made that is still together. It is obviously very Star Trek inspired. Size-wise it is roughly equivalent to the Enterprise-E, although slightly shorter, but with about the same mass and crew compliment. One thing where it differs drastically is it's firepower. The Predator, as it's name implies, is designed for combat. While officially classified as a Dreadnought, it's capabilities go far beyond a normal warship.
It houses 14 omni-directional pulse phaser arrays, all capable of independent or collaborative targeting. There are seven standard linear phaser arrays. A total of five quantum torpedo tubes, three fore and two aft. Among other improvements, the warp dive and impulse engines' efficiency has been improved 20 and 30 percent, respectively. The warp drive warp geometry has been enhanced by redesigning the nacelles and the impulse engines have been modified with directional vanes for faster response in combat situations.
The main departure from conventional starship design is the split of the saucer section and the addition of a dorsal command structure sprouting from the neck of the ship. There are also two canards alongside the engineering section that serve as platforms for four of the pulse phaser arrays.
Along with two conventional shuttle bays on the upper spine, the Predator has been outfitted with 14 dedicated launch bays, each housing its own light crew(1-3 depending on the mission fighter craft). Each launch bay is capable of storing, refueling, and repairing it's own particular fighter. (More on these later)
the federation would use a warship if a war started, unless it was with borg, and theyed make timeships. Also is the split in the ring for docking because that could make a very useful tool having the docking port under the bridge
Looks good, but i think it would look better with a recular saucer in stead of two thinks. I liked the view from behind, oh and Starfleet no longer uses photon torpedos in any fighting ship and instead use Quantum torpedoes
Not bad. It's an interesting design for a Star Trek ship, and would sure pack a punch against most enemies, but I don't think that Starfleet would ever actually build a warship like it. That's just my opinion, but Starfleet is a peaceful organisation. The landing struts could use a little work as well. Still, good job.
