(Star Wars) Custom LEGOŽ Millennium Falcon
About this creation

This is my custom LEGOŽ model of the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars Trilogy. My goal while building this was to create something with the intricacies of the UCS set, but in a size comparable to the more playable non-UCS sets. There were also several LifeLites used in this model, most notably for the forward lighting, hyperdrive, and boarding ramp.

This creation may also be viewed in its Flickr Gallery.

Millennium Falcon at Cloud City

LED lights from LifeLites are strung through the front "mandibles" of the ship to provide the forward lighting.

Aft Exterior Details

One of the most critical areas on this design to show the intricacies was the back of the ship on the top of the hull.

The Dish

The dish was created using a technic-style construction to accurately get the shape and size. The dish also has the ability to rotate 360 degrees.

To Defend Against Tie Fighters

Here is a close-up of the weapons. This was also mirrored on the bottom of the hull to be consistent with the schematics of the ship.

Top Paneling Details

The top-back of the hull can be removed to reveal the largest play-area of the design, in which minifigures can sit or stand while the top cover is positioned in place.

Millennium Falcon Interior

From an earlier version of the design's interior, a great shot of some familiar faces in the main play area of the model.

C-3PO Under Lights

LED lights were also placed into the bottom of the hull to shine downward.

Hyperdrive Detail

LED lights from LifeLites are connected to the blue translucent pieces to illuminate the engine. This shot is from an earlier version of this model, but the photo has always been one of my favorites.

Dejarik Table

"Let the Wookie win." A shot of the dejarik table (often referred to as "the chess board").

Han Solo

Notice even the design of the chair was made to resemble what we've seen.

Hidden Compartments

A couple of floor boards are removable, revealing hidden compartments.

Han and Chewie

This is a great shot of Han and Chewbacca in the cockpit. The windshield piece used was from the first LEGO release of the Millennium Falcon, set #7190.

Lando Calrissian

Return of the Jedi, anyone?

Boarding Ramp

The boarding ramp is retractable, and when closed, the support arms simply swing backward and attach to the bottom of the hull.

Boarding Ramp Illuminated

There are several LifeLites used in this custom model. This shows how they were used to illuminate the boarding ramp.

Quoting Alexander Zimmerman Very nice detail, shape and overall design. You used some very smart and effective building strategies that have inspired me to to try. The LED lights really make it unique, and the movie shots you alluded to are very fun. Great job!
Thanks so much! That's awesome you've been inspired to try some of the building techniques shown here. I'm honored. Thanks again!
