An original mecha--probably the largest one I have on file. Truly an instrument of brutal destruction.
About this creation
With the bulk of their enemies’ strength broken, the Neo-Void continued onward in a fourth wave of expansion. This time, using the momentum gained during their third wave of expansion, they proceeded to conquer the majority of the known universe. However, there were still some places where the enemy had amassed enormous military might, literally turning whole worlds and systems into fortresses, brimming over with weapons. Time after time, these fortresses were able to turn back the forces of the Neo-Void.

Insensed at this final opposition to their total victory, Imperial High Command commissioned IMS to create a mech with the firepower of a battleship that would capable of overthrowing such defences. The MID mk VII, aptly codenamed “Horror” would be the culmination of the project.

The mk VII was the third largest mecha ever produced by IMS and was the largest to be put into mass production since the Age of Legends. Its large size was due to the presence of its battleship-class onboard fusion reactors. The reactors would be used to power its enormous engines and its self contained superweapon.

The mecha’s structure was titanic, in order to support its reactor system. Its unprecedented quadruped design sometimes earned it the nickname “Centaur”. The mecha’s drive gave it the mobility of a much smaller unit, particularly when supplemented with the numerous vernier thrusters situated throughout its structure.

The entire outer structure of the mk VII was heavily armored and possessed battleship strength shields.

The mk VII’s size and power output enabled it to carry a plethora of weapons, including 4 heavy beam cannons, eight medium cannons and over 128 low yield, short range missile launchers. For melee combat the mech was equipped with a powered mace that had a direct reactor feed.

The mk VII’s real prize though, was its mega beam cannon. Capable of destroying a capital ship in a single hit, they would be vital in the mk VII's role as a siege mecha. However, though IMS had finally managed to create a superweapon-capable machine, the mk VII could still suffer from severe power shortages if it used its superweapon indiscriminately.

As history will bear out, the mk VII’s deployment was a complete success. The mecha were able to out maneuver the enemy’s defenses and use their superweapons to deliver a killing blow. The charred remains of several solar systems give testament to the hideous power of the unit.

Nearly 900 billion mk VIIs were produced by various companies over a period of almost 200 years. There are currently none still in service.

Aside from how outstanding the design is and how large the main cannon is, I really like how much thought you put into this. It shows because there are rear-facing cannons to protect it from rear attacks. I can see a horde of these galloping towards a base and laying siege.

I love the centaur design idea! The sharp edges and spikes all over the place really sell the "evil" look of this guy.

I agree with Clever Crowe : visionary! I would like to see it standing in a baseball stadium at night, with headlights on it. I wouldn't like to meet him on my way!

Woah! This thing is brutal, and that cannon is pure awesome! I don't know why, but this thing constantly reminds me of DOOM, It looks sorta like a huge demon centaur with a gun and a club. Excellent work!

This thing is huge, well built, and it does look scary. Your work, as always, is art. Sure thing, it's a great moc.

A trulty inspiring visage of death and destruction. Bravo my friend, bravo! The last time I tried to build a quad-mech this size it was an epic fail. If I choose to try again I may have to borrow (hint, hint) some of you schematics! Credit always given of course.
