"Hello, Craig, I'm back!"
About this creation
I FIXEDED IT. I can upload mass amounts of photos again. Lovely.

So, I'm back-ish. I don't visit here too often, and I can't promise that I will, but I'll try to make it more often than I do now.

Anyway. These two. Been a while since they had an update. Figured it was about time I revamped them.

ONWARD.

Here they are. Quite happy with how they came out this time. There is a lot I want to fix in the future, but for this time, I think I did well.

Let's begin with the individual details.

Esh, the Elder

Smoke.
That was all anyone could see. All anyone could smell.
The smoke hung heavy over the land, permeating it, poisoning it.
Burning. Everything was burning. The entire world as Esh had come to know it was burning to cinders.
War had come to the Garden. And the Shadowed ones had won.
Burning. Esh tried to move. He could feel the solid world around him, though he could not see it in the billowing darkness around him.
They had known it was coming. Elohm had told them that the Shadowed ones were coming. He'd made a way for them to build an army against the Shadowed ones even. The pathways into other worlds. The people of the Garden had assembled their army. Warriors from all of time and space. Races upon races. Legions upon legions.
But even that could not stop the evil from winning.
Burning. The world felt strange and spongy. It spun on diagonals and twisted Esh upside-down as he crawled through the thick, black smoke.
For every warrior of the Garden who fell, evil gained another corpse to posses. Another body to wield. The warriors simply could not hold against the numbers.
Burning. And now it was Esh's turn. The smoke was choking him. He couldn't think. He couldn't breathe.
And the darkness took him.
As it had all the others.

Here he is!

And that's the end for Esh.

Now, to Aivren.

Aivren, the Younger

"Run!" Aivren yelled at the meager number of survivors that he'd found.
The crowd of one hundred, at best, warriors ran through the stormy fields towards him. He searched the crowd thoroughly for Esh, but saw no sign of him. Aivren had seen Esh tear through a crowd of Shadowed ones towards Shiol, but Aivren lost sight of him amidst the smoke.
Aivren did not doubt his brother's ability to fight Shiol. But the army of deformed slaves that Shiol commanded was another story entirely.
"To the Gateways!" Aivren commanded, as he herded the refugees in the direction of the portals.
The Garden had fallen. There was no hope of saving it now. But Aivren could at least get everyone out of the Garden before closing the portals and trapping Shiol and his hordes inside.
The crowd was almost past him when Aivren spotted three figures emerging from the ever-growing cloud of smoke. Two were carrying the third one between them. Aivren recognized them instantly and flew towards them as fast as the wind could carry him.
Adimun, the leader of the Stones and Mayim, the leader of the Waters carried Esh's unconscious body between them as they limped their way from the black cloud.
"Aivren!" Adimun called out when he saw him approaching.
"Adimun! Mayim! My friends, I thought the evil had taken you too!" Aivren said as he landed beside them.
Mayim shook her head, "No, the darkness could not take us, but we were too late to save your brother."
Aivren looked at Esh's body in sadness. His armor was blackened and his heartlight no longer glowed with life.
"Come," Aivren said quickly, "Even if he cannot be revived, we may yet be able to save his body from becoming a puppet of our enemy."
The three leaders ran as fast as their legs could carry them through the war-torn field with their friend's limp body between them. They followed the path of the crowd that had gone before them to the portals, and once there they carried Esh's body to a small pond nearby one of the portals to Etheria.
"Place him in the water." Aivren said to the other two holding Esh's body.
When they had placed his body in the water, Aivren told everyone to join hands around the pond.
"Elohm," Aivren spoke, his tone soft yet even, "Your loyal warrior has fallen today. Our friend, our brother. I ask that you do not let his sacrifice be in vain. Cleanse his body of the shadows that collect in it. Do not let your loyal servant become a puppet of our enemy."
The wind around the gathering died down, and the clouds above lifted over the crowd. As Esh's body slowly sunk in the pond, a flash of light shot down into the water. The surface of the water began to sprout flames that burned a deep orange.
"Everyone get back!" Aivren shouted as the flames shot skyward.
A dark shape jumped from the column of flames, its body coated in the fiery tongues of light.
The shape crashed to the ground with a thunderous roar, a crater holding the burnt remains of the shape.
Aivren approached slowly, peering over the edge of the crater with caution.
An orange being lay in a ball of flame.
"It is done." Aivren said quietly.
"Not... quite..." the whisper rose from the crater as the column of flames died down back into the pool of water from whence it had come.
"Oh, you dog..." Aivren's smile was creeping slowly up his face as he spoke.
"You going to insult me, or help me up?" Esh called weakly from the crater. "you know, dying hurts..."
"Yeah? Well you can tell me all about it, let's go." Aivren said as he pulled Esh to his feet.

Esh and Aivren stood at the edge of the portal. Their world was gone. They were about to leave for the last time.
"This is it then." Esh said solemnly.
"Yeah," Aivren nodded slowly, "Time to go."
And they left the Garden.

Ok, crap of a story, but that's alright, no one reads them anyway.

ONWARD. AGAIN.

A big sword isn't all he's got this time. I gave him a personal favorite as far as weapons go for this update.

Pohatu throwing knives!

I would duck if I were you.

This is how they are stored.

And the two of them standing together.

With Mags :)

Creator's Comments: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Had a lot of fun with making these guys. Felt good to bring them back. I tried to spare no expense as far as the pieces were concerned. For once I didn't care about how many of a certain piece I had, or what I could use it for afterwards, (since I plan on keeping them around for a bit. As much as that is gonna hurt my amount of pieces... XD) and I think it definitely could've gone a lot worse.
I modeled these two after a specific idea that I had when I first came up with their characters. Esh's body shape is modeled after that of a Metru build, with tall legs, and comparative shorter arms. Aivren, on the other hand, is modeled after a standard HF 1.0 build, with a shorter body and more even arms and legs, as well as ridiculous wide shoulders. The heights of both of them were very much modeled to reflect the comparative heights of both of those standard builds. I would like to think I achieved what I was going for. I also decided that being tall and lean was more of a stealth thing than being the hulk, so Aivren got to have weapons instead. I'm hoping to come up with some good weapons for such a bulking person as he is for next time.
My favorite part of these two would probably be either Esh's legs, or Aivren's arms. Not sure which I like better, but both we rather accidental, and I'm quite happy with how they came out.
My least favorite part would either be Esh's arms or his wings. Both of those will be the first thing getting an upgrade when I come up with a better design.
I have a long list of things I want to work on, but I am very curious to see what you all think! So tell me... What did I screw up on? What do you like about these two? Where should I start updating and why? Given that these two are my self-MOC and I'm a bit attached to them, I would like to know how to make them the best they can be :)

Oh, and ten points to the person that guesses where that line in the introduction came from.

Thanks for viewing! :)

WOOOOO, new MOCs from you! <3 Quite impressed with your work here, dear Gale, but to be honest I'm not quite convinced of these revamps... At least, with Aivren. He has some nice techiques and designs (I really like the chest and the legs), but he's too bulky! Even his head looks quite small! And Gresh helmet is quite big itself... Talking about the MOC itself, it's amazing, it has a lot of continuity on its armor and you have used a lot of parts quite well; so the only thing I think you should improve is the very top part: the tiny head and the shoulders (I don't like too much how the Reapa masks there...). BUT, as Aivren, I find it too bulky. If you ask me, the first version concept was my favourite, with that 'vine chest'... Esh, in the other hand, works perfectly in concept and I love how it looks, but I think it needs some improvements. I think you should try to shorten the shoulders and narrow the upper legs a bit. The wings look nice for me, but doesn't match Esh too much. Ant I think it's all I have to say. Again, really love the legs themselves, they are quite worked; but my favourite part of the MOC is the torso. That's one of the best chest I have seen in a while. To sum up, dear: you did a marvelous work in these two, but even if it's an almost-perfect MOC, Aivren is too bulky and in my opinion you should redesign it. Esh, on the other hand, is the opposite case: concept is great, but needs some small improvements. Glad to see another MOCs from you, dear, they're amazing MOCs but I'm not quite convinced of their final looks for the characters... Though I'm not the best to say that. Sorry if I bother you, dear, but since you ask for honesty... Anyways, don't forget that the very first person that should love a MOC is yourself!

These both look so cool! But, as a side note, did you use the hand design I came up with? Because, if you did, I like how you improved it!

Quoting HyperShadow 623 Excellent work! I especially love Aivern!:D
Danke :)
Quoting Toa Taile I hate to say this, but you deserve to hear it. You did well with this version of them, but not nearly as well as you did with the previous version. I feel that with the exposed ball joints, weird proportions and almost bulbous shaping that this is a downgrade, heck even esh's wings looked better before in my opinion.
You don't have to apologize! I don't want people to pointlessly say that what I do is good all the time. I want feedback, I want to know when I've mucked up something, or I need to improve in an area. I appreciate your input :)
Quoting Axel Schouten Esh improved a lot since the last version, i love the bulk and the mask seems to fit better. I love that chest/torso design on him:) Aivren is really cool too. awesome upgrades!
I agree, the mask does fit him much better this time around, and I like it. Thank you for the review :)
