Jagdpanzer VI Jagdtiger Version 3.0
About this creation
This will be my final release of the Jagdtiger.
After a long time I managed to put all of my ideas into my MOC and here we have it.

Key data:

  • Scale 1/20

  • 1825 bricks

  • 505 mm long (369 mm without gun)

  • 190 mm wide

  • 144 mm tall

  • 1.83 kg heavy

  • IR controllable

  • powered by two PF L-motors

The interior is the same like the old version. I just had to rearrange the battery block for the L-motors.

If the weather is in my favour I will upload a little outdoor video of this beast in action.

Now some pictures:

Like in the last version the IR receiver is well hidden.

Here you can see the new roadwheels. While searching the roadwheels on BrickLink I also found a new pair of drive wheels, which suit better than the old ones.

The hatches got handles and...

...now you can open them.

On the sides I added more details like the tow cabels.
To keep them in shape I used some wire.

The front also got a little overhaul. For comparison check my last version.

Understood, free space is important in a project like this.

Quoting Edward Kopfakingrl Better a little late than never :). Those are some great news, cant wait to see your progress !... Want to make it more stable or something else ?
There are two reasons for a new suspension. First: the current one is wasting much precious space. And second: the rubber band is falling apart over time. At the moment I am using this piece http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=45590#T=C for my new suspension. As you suggest I will rework the details but for now I have some trouble with the superstructure.

Better a little late than never :). Those are some great news, cant wait to see your progress ! A small suggestion if I may, as you can see here http://images49.fotki.com/v630/photos/9/1475469/7325626/JagdtigerBild2-vi.jpg the back plate of the jagdtiger looks a little bit different. On the left side for example you don't have a second "package" and in the section below there is some stuff for servicing the tracks. I came up with something like this http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=60044196723534145225 maybe it would do the trick. Its nothing very important just tiny aesthetics but i thought you would be maybe interested in. Wish you all the best and keep it up, your creations are outstanding in every aspect. And why a new suspension ? Want to make it more stable or something else ?

Quoting Edward Kopfakingrl What a piece of beauty this is ! Absolutely love your Jagdtiger. I am a huge fan of the Tiger II and i though of building one, using yours as inspiration, because they share almost the same "glacis". I even made some plans for the turret, but I have some problems with attaching the sides to the main body, since the Tiger II, being a normal tank, doesn't have a "superstructure" cage on the top. And I'm still thinking how to make a turret big as it would be, rotate - http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-turntable-4-x-4-complete-73603 - would this to the job ? Furthermore I heard you were also keen on designing a Tiger II, is it still so ? Did you make any concepts ? Or LDD plans ? I would be very grateful for an answer. You did a masterpiece !
Ok first off all sorry for the late answer. In the past I was busy with my study and hadn't hat time for my projects, but your comment motivated me to work again. Currently I am building a front-wheel drive for my Jagdtiger and changing the suspension. When I am done with this I will finaly build a Tiger II with fully traversable turret and gun. But this will take a little time. Just favorite me and you will be up to date. I hope this will answer your questions.

Quoting William Endacott Nice but 50 cm is a bit long??
Actualy not. The Jagdtiger was 10,65m long according Wikipedia. Divided by 20 I get 0,5325m. So my Moc is actualy too short.

Quoting Tommy Styrvoky I have a question with the road wheels, how much spacing is there between the center of the track and the inner road wheel and outer one? also how well are they held together by the rods, do they have a tendency to come off ? I may be purchasing some of these and using them on a model.
For the spacing i recomend to look in the LDD file but it should be about 2 plates wide. The wheels are held very good by the axle. They never fall off. Sometimes the complete axle with the wheels is coming off but in my opinion the reason for this are the weak used connectors. Sorry for the late reply.

Great tank, perfect model. I really admire your work :)

Excellent work! Time for judging! Creativity/Effort: 4/5. 1825 bricks couldn't have possibly taken a short time, but it's much less than Tommy's. Originality: 4.5/5. Besides your three versions, there are only six Jagdtigers on the 'Pages. Conformity: 5/5. Popularity: 4/5. 18 likes and 12 comments is pretty good! Overall: 17.5/20. Great work, but unfortunately, you lost to Tommy.

Quoting killswitch95 [DEMON] as someone previously said, a PzKpfw VIB Tiger II would be a very nice addition, your already half way there!
Tiger II is on the way. I had to modify the interior of the hull to fit the turret. At the moment I am constructing the turret. (I will build the Henschel variant)

This, sir, is true beauty. I'm having second thoughts about the gun mantlet, but it isn't far off and the rest of the tank is just perfect.

I believe i commented on an older version and said that it was a bit of a rough diamond? Well sir, this is now a masterpiece. With the updated wheelbase, it sits far more realistically on its suspension, not as low and slouched as the old one. The more realistic outline means that the eye picks up the details a lot more, and boy are there a lot. This is one of the most accurate and well built RCs I have seen, well done! Such a beautiful chassis, considering making a King Tiger?
