My entry for the LOM UC, the tunnels beneath Dankdark Mountain.
About this creation
From the viewpoint of Jegron, my primary character.
As I stood at the doorway to the tunnel, I thought about how I had ended up here. A team of Enalican explorers had come up here searching for treasure, and they had hired me to help protect against the dangers of the night. I had found this tunnel late the night before, while chasing a group of wolves and decided to investigate today, but today the tunnel didn't look to inviting.

Ignoring the cold lump of fear in my stomach, I stepped through into the entrance, sword drawn. To my releif, the room contained no living things. It had a smooth tiled floor, and mostly smooth walls, with carvings of bizarre creatures on them. Forgeting my caution i stepped forward into the room.

Almost instantly, there was a resounding twang followed by a breeze as a small, sharp dart whizzed past my chin. I froze, and slowly eased down into a crawl. I slid across the room on my stomach, as I heard darts whizzing over my head, and striking the far wall. I finally reached the other side, and stood up cautiously. To my relief no darts were fired at me, so I moved carefully up a narrow spiral staircase.

The next room was very different. It had a much rougher, almost gravelly floor, and perfectly smooth walls made up of 2 types of stone. As far as I could tell there was nothing dangerous here, just for walls, a floor and a ceiling, so I entered the room cautiously. As soon as I entered the room, however, a whirring sound above me told me to be less cautious, so I threw myself for the other end of the room.

No sooner had a hit another hard stone floor, then the ceiling itself crushed the area I had just been in. A second slower and I would have been crushed.

After climbing up a ladder I entered possibly the most strangely beautiful room I had ever seen. It was no larger than the others, but it s walls were perfectly smooth, and inset with veins of colorful crystal that glowed from within. and against the far wall, atop a small pedastal sat a HUGE lump of unworked gold. Above the gold glowed a single crystal which glowed with an angry light. Having learned my lesson, I approached the pedastal slowly, tapping each stone with my sword before stepping on it. Finally, I reached the pedastal, swallowed my fear, and grabbed the gold. The Crystal above the Pedastal stopped glowing, and....... nothing happened. Not wanting to push my luck, I made a break for it, dropping down the ladder sprinting past the crusher, and sliding under the darts.

Upon exiting, I inspected my find. It was a lump of gold, that looked even larger in the sunlight, almost the size of my head it seemed. With that I decided to return to camp, and walked off into the evening light.

Thanks for looking at this, my first LOM contest build! I built this over the course of about 3 days, and yes, all the traps work. You can see some of theire workings on the next picture.

Thanks for looking!

To be honest, I really wasn't expecting much when I opened this page. The main pic made me think it was just very, very plain tower with a few plate floors and a LURP stuck at the bottom. When I started reading, though, my first thought was, "Okay, those carvings are pretty cool. At least it has an interior," but it kept getting better from there. Great work with the whole set-up, and please choose a main pic that does the build justice next time!

Cool ideas for the traps, looks like something out of a video-game!

This looks very nice on the inside, but don't do an overall shoot for your title picture or people might think its ugly.
