G1 Micro Jetfire/Skyfire
Well, I did manage to find this guy. It was under the newspaper and I couldn’t see it because other members of the household were always sitting there telling everyone else to go away because they were reading about Tony Abbott’s latest failure. But enough satire, as you’re all here to see more G1 goodness. If you’re a Transformers fan, then you’d probably know about the upcoming classics (or ‘generations’) Leader Class Jetfire. So, in honour of this really hyped toy, I’m making a G1 Micro Skyfire. I’m calling him that, because that’s how he was in the animation. Besides, at the end of the day there’ll still be disputes like this over Skyfire’s/Jetfire’s true name, or whether it’s FIRRIB (which I believe in) or RIRFIB, or if the Japanese continuity can even be considered part of the American cartoon. Well, I’m sure some idiot in the comment section won’t bother reading this and try to correct me anyway. For those who are reading this, know this: I DON’T CARE. Does it matter if it’s Jetfire or Skyfire? I’m going for show-accuracy. If you wanna call him jetty or whatever, knock yourself out. I won’t stop you…

Okay, so let’s start off with Skyfire’s vehicle mode.

In terms of composition, it’s a really good representation. Also, there’s not much kibble shown, which is nice. It’s funny how it’s easier to show less kibble on a smaller figure than it is for a larger one…

Here’s a view from the top. The accuracy in the jet composition is debatable, but it gets the message across.

And from a view on the bottom, you can see the head and the peg connecting the leg sections.

And now, here we have robot mode!

The cool part about the wings is how they fold down around the back. If this was recoloured into Starscream, it would work really well. But fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I already have a build for Starscream.

From the back, you can see that the nosecone folds down quite easily.

For a size comparison, he’s a little shorter than Optimus Prime, and a little bit taller than a regular minifigure.

And for a size comparison between vehicle modes, he scales quite well.

And here’s a glimpse of what you’ll get with the LDD download.

Well, that’s it for now. Next time, you’ll be seeing G1 Micro Warpath. And after that, maybe some LTC or that Lucky Star thing I was talking about. Or maybe a Micro Mecha? Yeah, I haven’t done that in a while. I designed a new head for the Zaku microfigure; one that it’s so, eh, ‘cluttered’. But anyway, Cya soon. Untill next time, happy building! :)

Also, before I go, please note that I am still Declan Muller. The new name ‘Lord Dcast’ is going to stay, so I hope you all realise that…

Quoting Paulo Daniel I think that's your best microformer yet...
Thanks. If I had to pick my favourite, it would probably be Megatron, though.
Quoting Kenji ! Sweet Microformer! Awesomeness packed into one small figure :)
Thanks. :)
Quoting Evan Botkin Nice work! I really like the design because there it's very smooth in both modes. I like the name Jetfire better than Skyfire but, you know, whatever.
Ah, to each their own.
Quoting Scott Bourgeois Awesome Jetfire! (or Skyfire, LOL) How you manage to get so much detail in these micros mystifies me. Nice job!
I usually use one rule: no bricks. I break this rule a little bit, but it's only ever for armour parts that add on later or a 1x1 or a 1x2. Also, special bricks are okay. But other than that, here's a tip. Always start with a 1x1 brick with studs on all sides but one. You know which one I'm referring to.
Quoting RaptorTalon ~ Sweet! love that alt mode!
Thanks. I'm planning on updating this one soon to incorporate the new nose cone from Tigee's design.
