Lego Technic Tractor Truck
About this creation
This is my tractor truck, approximately scale 1:10, inspired by an Iveco Stralis.
It 's almost completely IR-controlled, four-wheel drive with an XL engine almost directly connected to each wheel (only a couple of gears for each motor).
It has steering wheels, driven by a servo motor, with working steering wheel.
The first axle has independent suspension, the 2nd and 3rd are live axles with pneumatic self-leveling suspension.

It has a double pneumatic pump for compressed air, moved by 1 M motor. Another M Motors move 1 pneumatic valve, for lock the fifth wheel.
There are another 2 valves, activated manually, 1 for the cab tilting and 1 for give compressed air to the trailer.

A electric switch is used to turn on/of the front light, even this manually.

Quoting Bart Wyns You mentioned that each XL motor is (almost) directly coupled to one set of wheels. Which gear ratio's did you use? I'm currently building a truck as well (but smaller;-), so I wondered how to find the optimal balance between speed and torque (given the fact that my truck must pull a load of max. 5kg).
The ratio is 1:1, I used a couple of knob gears. For your Moc I don't know, it depends from various factor, like how many gear you use and what's the purpose of the MOC...speed or torque...you have to test it, maybe with a provisory load

Greai work. Please let me know when instructions are available. I made a lowboy trailer as well for lego set 8258 with 4 steered axles. Loaded with 8256. I also modified the mt5571: twin wheels, improved steering angle and ir driving and steering. It comes with a tipping trailer. Besides that i built Han Crielaards truck 8x4, and loaded it with the 8043. Han's 10x4 was modified to be full ir controlled. Driving and steering, tipping the dumpbed and lifting the third axle. A trailer to carry the 8459 is in progress. I am working on instructions, maybe you want to exchanfe some? Kind regards, Hein

Quoting Bart Wyns Fantastic model! Do you know how much weight it can pull? I'm looking for a truck for pulling a lowboy trailer with the Volvo front loader (>3,5kg) on it.
Thanks! I have tested with a total weight of 12Kg, like you can see in the video at 4:45. but the scale of the Volvo front loader is too small, it has the same wheels!

Quoting L B how much time and money you have invested?
Honestly I don't know, the parts come from several official set collected in the last 4-5 years and some little orders on BL carried out not specifically for this MOC. For the time, I don't remember. It was done almost one year ago. But I'm spending more time to do the instruction.;-)

Hi!! Thanks!! I'm working on the instructions and I hope to finish them in this year, but only for the Tractor Truck. The trailer was an "experiment" and didn't work like I wanted, and, unfortunately, I have already disassembled it.

It's hard to comprehend how incredible this is through words. My initial reaction was a lot of gasping and gibberish. The fact it's Technic ad there is practically no gaps is a huge achievement on its own. It looks superb, and the functions are sublime. A fantastic creation, toppest of the jobs.
