Another build for the Warlords of Nocturnus challenge on the Eurobricks GoH forums. At the risk of building something kinda boring looking, I really wanted to focus on my vision of the landscape of the Darklands. This was originally intended to be a battle scene but I really like the more empty, desolate look without a bunch of figs clogging up the scene.
In any case, time and ambition really got the better of me on this one. I gave myself two weeks to build this with the thought I'd have plenty of time - unfortunately, life had to get in the way and it wasn't until just before the deadline that I really got going with this. It made for some long nights for sure! I added the two towers (greatly inspired by Derfel Cadarn's) when I realized I didn't have the time to build the mountain and caves I had originally planned.
Hope you enjoy! (Please don't mind the technic bricks, I had [unrealized] hopes of maybe expanding this later! :D)
This is a master class of mood landscaping! Fantastic textures matched by the overall feel it creates. Wonderful depth. Love the tan on the horizontal surfaces with the grey as verticals, gives it a real feeling of desolation and abandon, even of a poisonous region bereft of life. Outstanding!
A really great scene, I like the landscape with all the little hills. The old tree is nestled beautifully into the landscape. The towers are rounded perfectly for me. To me the whole as part acts from a RPG game. bravo
I like it

This is my favorite build from you. It looks like someone can just get lost out there.
Looks very desolate...and stunning! Great idea for the murky water/slime, and the trees add so much to the feel of this creation. The sheer size is impressive, but also the details you've put into it, well done!
Everything is "delicious" here! Did you use the rotating 2x2 square plate technique for the round towers? I've also been studying Derfel Cadarn's guide lately, it has some beautiful and useful tips for medieval MOCs.
