MOCOlympics Round 2: Delatron 3000 Vs Andrew Alexander
Self Portrait
About this creation
Bracket 1, Category: Self-Portrait: In non-minifig scale, make a representation of yourself from the bricks. It can be literal or abstract in design.

Compliance to rules Hereís Andrew

Itís me!

This is a true representation of what is going on in my head. Honest.

Itís busy in here. Plus, this is only scratching the surface. More lies beneath that isnít for sharing.

This cute blue xenomorph was the result of a table-scrapping session for the deliberate purpose of putting an actual idea from my head into my head. I set out to use only one colour, only the pieces I could find in 10 minutes, and restrict myself to an hour building, no more. Inevitably, I founds loads of light blue after I was doneÖ..

Apart from my siggy about to do some mischief, these other guys represent amalgams of inspiration and ideas, nothing specific

For comparison purposes I suppose you should see what this is based onÖ..

This is also a true representation of what my face looks like most of the time. I think this was the Saturday after my friendís 40th birthday party, Cider had been consumed in large amounts until 3am and Iíd had about 3 hours sleep.

Whereís the bacon?

Thanks judges, for the chance to subject myself to further interwebz ridicule. Itís actually quite daunting to try and represent yourself in bricks, especially as I tried not to gloss over my facial shortcomings, then post it out there for all to see and comment on.

Thanks for looking

Yours,

The Delatron

Quoting Tom Remy That's good news Stu! (IF, of course...) But I meant you and I didn't need luck THIS round because our two opponents have withdrawn... So good luck for round 3!
Whoops, I see what you were saying Tom! Didn't realise your opponent hadn't posted mate (I've got to go around and check out all the entries), that's never good. As I said in the group threads though, hopefully anyone left in will now have a real go at this.

Really tough category. Naturally, you aced it! The thumbnail was enough to draw me in, and I'm glad it did - this amply illustrates the source of your weird and wonderful inspiration! Good money for the win.

Wow, that is just awesome! It's great that you included the photographs of yourself, because they really do show how much the face you've built looks like the real thing. The whole idea is just ingenious. The xenomorph may be my favorite part, and it sounds like that may have been the part you put the least effort into. Fantastic MO entry!

Fantastic creation in quite a challenging and somewhat evil category. While horrified after seeing your face, I am quite pleased with the detail you were able to create for your likeness, and the blend of abstract and real is perfect. Although it wasn't much of a match, I'm quite certain this would have won the day against any opponent. You have my vote. Take it, here, take it!

I absolutely believe that's whats inside your head... Respect is due for making such an effort despite your opponent's lack of impetus, although the MOs can always rely on you to brighten up the place, even pulling that face.... This makes my day. You have my vote.

Quoting Kevin Moyer So your head is filled with killer mimes, rainbow swirlies, and light blue Giger monsters? Hmmm...
Not FILLED with, I need a bit of space for recipes, comedy and the lyrics to inappropriate rap music too ;)

So, you chose the literal approach? ;) Very cool build Stuart, you never fail to come up with something ingenious. That xenomorph captures the look perfectly, and I like the shaping you've done on your face.

Quoting Tom Remy Fun-tastic! You didn't have to include a picture of you IMO, the content of your head is enough to recognize you! Not to mention your style... I don't wish you good luck, for the same reason you don't have to wish me either... >:( But the next round should be interesting!
Thanks Tom, however I will wish you bon chance as we shouldn't face each other next round! IF we both keep winning, I believe it would be R5 where we would meet. IF.....

Quoting El Barto ! Well alrighty then! All of our suspicions have been confirmed, Stu. Impressive bust, too, in addition to all the little personality traits flying around. Is this one going to stay on the mantel for a while? I think it's a keeper. Congrats on moving on!
Cheers Bart, I would love to keep it but... A) it's too big for the mantel and B)That's quite a lot of my useful tan in there!

I feel like this is the type of creation that every builder should do...a self-portrait that blends physical and psychological aspects in a mindblowing (haha) fashion. Needs more purple and a frog or two, but that's just me. ;)
