During this build I've gotten a lot of inspiration from the many impressive builders out there. However, there are a few who are worth mentioning extra:
* Achintya Prasad - His really cool USS Enterprise CVN-80 was what made me wanna build my own; and just over one year later, here I am!
* Locutus 666 - The hull design is heavily based on his superb rendition of USS Enterprise CVN-65. His aircrafts has also been a big source of inspiration.
* 4estFeller - His extremely cool futuristic carrier CVN-104 has been a huge source of inspiration - as you can see, the island on his ship was used as a reference for mine (although a bit modified).

Final words:
This build had been really fun, and often challenging as I wanted to integrate as much "playability" as I possibly could, without it affecting the overall look. This ship was build in the spirit of SHIPtember, although it is ment for spaceships only (so it's not an entry).

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this creation as much as I had building it. I would also like to apologize for the quite poor photo editing - as you can tell, it isn't my strong side but I will try to upload some higher quality photos.

If you have any questions do feel free to ask. And please do comment and rate, I'd very much appreciate it. :)

Regards,
Dammtuss

Quoting Locutus 666 A question: How you build the jet blast shields? And another question: Are the elevators up/down moveable?
The blast sheilds are built using a "Hinge Tile 1 x 4" and a "Hinge Train Gate 2 x 4" connected to it. And the elevators have two positions: up and down. This is done by a design very similair to the one you used on your USS Nimitz (1/700 scale one), as this to me represented a good balanse between playability, and overall look. It also didn't interfere with the hangar (which can be accesed by easily removing a part of the deck, which I hopefully will be able to upload a picture of soon). =)

Quoting Achintya Prasad Excellent work all around man! I'm honored my ship was a source of inspiration for you; I'm sure you now can appreciate first hand the difficulties of building a large carrier ;-) I would reccommend to perhaps add some angling to the deck (the forwards section particularly) though on that scale, it really is a hard call to make, either way. The aircraft and other details are superb!
Thanks! And yes, it was a real struggle to try and get as much detail in as possible, while still staying true to the scale. About the angle on the forward deck, I intentionly went with this option, as it to me maked the ship look more like a Amphibious Assault Ship (Mistral, Canberra, Wasp etc.). =)

Quoting Locutus 666 cant wait to see the other creations!
I did post a small, completely unedited "teaser" image on Swebrick (a Swedish Lego forum, http://www.swebrick.se/index.php?topic=7466.msg134254#new). As you can see, the image are not that great and I most certainly did use the wrong type of background, so I will take new pictures and upload them as soon as I can. :)

Quoting Locutus 666 Very well. Yep i can see where inspiration from me took place. :) Nicely done. I will have a look at the bricksehlf gallery as soon as its available. You should build more miniscale ships!
Yes, I found your way to build the bow to be the best, and I figured why re-invent the wheel? Also, I have already built two Frigates/Destroyers, one Joint Support Ship and one Submarine, for which I will have to give you some serious credit for. Just the matter of getting them posted... Hopefully I might have a picture or two uploaded later this week, but really need to re-take the images as they didn't turn out all that well.

Quoting Locutus 666 A really cool build and thanks for being announced. Do you have more pictures? Just 1 pictures is a little less for such a great build!
Thanks, really means a lot coming from you, as your builds have been such a huge inspiration for me. I've added a few more pictures. My intention is to take a few higher-quality photos and having them edited by the end of the week. =)

Right, might take a day or so. Hopefully it should be public shortly. =)
