Atritian Dragon Castle - part2 - HighCastle (scale 1:2000)
HighCastle is a second main part of Dragon castle to be founded. It is started when Winterstars lord put roof on the all towers, which in atritian symbolics means he want his family to create their own destiny. Wintertars inhabitants usually own a LowTower, which is a estate in borderlands of their teritory which they cultivate. In spite of this, HighTowers owners form HighCastle. They are given a platoform for their tower and a small teritory in castle where they put towers of their own family members. HighTower lords have responsibility for defencding their part of walls and inner teritory. Atritian as adult, he must chose theri destiny by choosing whenever he wants to rise LowTower to have an adventurous job to defend borders with comfortable stay in Witnerstar. Or to stay in castle and rise HighTower to further increase power of the castle. Morphologicaly, HighCastle is build north of wintestar and its whole features are very high, ramificated and sleek. It resembles a vast amount of big castles entrneched on top of their platforms, with tepples of fellow Valarcar and Illirin to give them food and heat, all circled by formidable ring of complicated curtain wall.
About this creation
Here come some photos with main tower added. I think all castle parts need a citadel and you will see this tower also in upcoming LowCastle

Inspiration for HighCastle came from my childhoods dreams and fantasies. My whole life I have been going through High Tatras, which are the most beautiful mountain range in Slovakia, sometimes called „Little Alps“. I imagined, how would it be if somebody had constructed a castle, that would sit as a crown on the mointaintop, with multiple bridges to another mountains, with gardens atop. With inhabitants that would spend much time by looking down, and to be blessed with such detachment that is possible just from very high places ... thats where Dragon Castles come from. One night, i dreamed that I was running into Tatras when I actually have found Atritians. They did not look much splendid, but in that moment I was glad that my fantasies from daydreaming has visited me in my night dreams  .

I tried to make as complex mountain as it would be possible for me. Not just to make a plate with edges covered by greebles. As in chinese Great Wall, their beauty is on steep and cragged mountain where they lay on, which make it look like crown. Since this, i call those hills as „crownhills“

As I have always prefered to show complex shape and interior and thought before greebles, I tried to put most file capacity into complexity, as always. Since that, towers are not made from splendid toothed wheels, but from regular bricks.

Overall, castle is not so steep and high as winterstar, because it is made for living in and growng plants, not primarily for defence. Aside from that, with 1:2000 scale, curtain walls are still 75 meter high and 25 meters wide, and towers about 200 meters high, so it is still more monumental that most of historical castles. Yes, magic is the purpose.

Bridges between moutaintops are inspired from hanging glass parts in chandeliers. Atritians are a combination of beauty and monumentality, like my favorite music – metal – is a combination of expressionism and sentimentality.

Closer look on castles citadel.

Eastern part of castle. I had to crack main castle into four peaces in order to place last towers onto their platforms, as when done in main file, it would crack my computer over and over. Sometimes I wonder if better computer would make better LDDery.

Eastern castle contains the tallest platform crowned by sacred Illirin grove that give Atrtians food, water ,shelter and air.

Metallic colurs can shine very nicely in LDD.

Black metallic structure on gray platforms are „Hightowers“. I tried to distinguish them from golden walls and silvery platforms. Beside that, I dont like black stone, as it resembles me of Barad Dur. Atrirtians are not dark, and in fact they hate necormancy and all what comes from it.

Western castle with central part – citadel. I made most of vegetation-bearing elements in very heart of HighCastle to hide it from enemy firepower. Plus, great garden with giant magical trees on the top looks great in center.

Little orange brick at foundations is located in very center of the model, and is used to navigate me when I want to put castle in the center of screen. Little useful trick.

Superior aspect.

Northern castle. Note bridges that connect all hightowers together, they are forming an arch around lower vegetation tile.

The snowflake-like tower is what Stephan N asked about. I dont know how, he correctly guessed that it is a temple. I wanted to make winterstar so ellegant like this one, but it would loose its shape in so much details. So i made it plain.

North tower is sacred for Atritians, as norht is sacred direction. It is always built in the norhternmost part of castle and limits its norhtern borders. Once founded, north tower serve as temple of contempletion, art, and most of all – concsience. North tower serves as a temple of contemplation. North is a holy direction for Atritians, as they believe their creator „Father of Dragons“ lives on the North pole. So, from every place on Singauran the know they see their origin whenever they look north. North tower is usually beautiful, slender and very high, and it has many balconys to allow castle inhabitants to look north and contemplate. It has great religious importance. Beside its fortification elements it has many libraries, chapels, deposits from artefacts from deceased. It has also rooms with ateliers that enable believers to incorporate their thoughts into art. In Northern tower it is forbidden to do violence, as it is recommended to be silent and to think. Norhtern tower has a small gatehouse inside that is used only in special occasions, like ritual of choice or marriage. Family member that is going to choose his life always departs and returns through door in Northern Tower foundations. Also, when Atritian admits his crimes, he leaves by this door to be judged and no one can harm him.

Great trans blue part in north tower shines with its own light to enable Atritians to come here at any time.

You can see greyish diamond-shaped bastions in golden wall. They are inspired form reinessance star-forts , which walls were designed to house very heavy cannons and which were adapted to absorb such shots from below.

Southern part of castle. I let some platforms unocuppied, as it looked better with details distributed in clusters. Sometimes, absent things are as important as present ones. Especially in fine arts.

Crownhill. Originally meant for winterstar, but I decided to abandoned this design because of its size. Someting as complex as winterstar could not sit on such cragged thing.

Now come the detail section.

In front you can see Temples of Illirin, also know as Ethernal Trees, derived from their unlimited life span. They are not original part of castle, but Illirin gave them to Atritians as a gift of thankfullnes in end of War of Mages. Illirin and Valarcar stopped their thousand years lasting war by suggestion of Atritians. Illirin temples are network if monumental trees that arise from massive crater filled with soil that is hidden in temples patform. These trees provide water by condensating dew and rain and fill it into their flowers or to their roots where Atritians dring from. Also they give them lots of fruit and support for Atritian wheat that looks like ivy. Also they grow wooden palaces in their main branches and serves as home to any Illirin that would visist Dragon Castle.

These palaces are Temples of Valarcar. As Illirin, Valarcar also gave their fines invention to Atritian for their help. They are magical devices that virtually collect light of the sun and stars. They add it into giant glass chambers when they are transformed into valarcarian Ethernal Flame. It is unlimitied source of heat, light and destructional power and enable Atritians to remove their civic waste, give heat to their homes and light during polar night or for growing plants in the underground of plaforms.

What did Atritians do to achieve these priceless gifts? They were able to overpower both nations and convince them that war would destroy everything. Prior to forging Polaris Alliance, Atritians were only ones that did not have to have any artefacts to derive their magic from, and also they needed only their mind to cast spells. Valarcar drained their strenght from fire, and Illirin from trees, and they were constantly destroyin their enemies sources of magic to point when Illirin groves were burnded to ground and Valarcar fireplaces flooded by sludge. Atritians gave them ability to acst spells without artefact.

Prior to that, Atritians dwelled in woods filled by monsters and were slowly killed out by them. With both Gifts, they were able to finally populate Dragon Castles and they finally could rest in safety of their mountaintop fortresses.

To celebrate their peace, which was conceived by Father of Dragons, Atritians started to build North Towers to remeber them their history to prevent them from repeating their mistakes and from being over proud.

Details of primary hightowers.

Secondary hightowers.

Details of platform tops. IN most cases, i had to complement them with another line of foundations to fit these planar structures on the craggy crownhill.

Greetings, you who come from valley!

Very, very nice! The completeness of the build, the awesome tree design, and the complex tower all make this a fantastic build. Once again, great job on this masterpiece!

So enormous in size. I like very much the vegetation between the buildings. The Columnar tower with each round floors, is that a kind of temple? And you have a template for this huge facility? or You create from the fantasy? And unfortunately I have another question: I can think of this castle on a landscape very good imagination, is it not perhaps more beautiful with such a background. And many legions of course traveling through the country :)
