MO Round 3 The Dunedain98 vs. Zach Lucia: 70405 Mountain Fortress
Protect the mountain fortress from the invading Dragon knights! Raise the drawbridge and close the gates, but watch out, the Dragon Knights are armed with a catapult and battering ram! This mighty castle has a secret trapdoor, a forge with a light up brick, and look out for the collapsing tower function! Includes 11 minifigures, a Lion Knight captain, a Dragon Knight captain, 5 King's soldiers, and 4 Dragon soldiers.

MocOlympics Round 3
My amazing opponent for this round is Zach Lucia!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So here is the set I created for the LEGO Castle line; set 70405 Mountain Fortress. This set would cost approximately $199.99 USD and $229.99 CAD (Sorry Mark, but Canada is more expensive ;) and would be a Hard to Find set.
I never intended for this set to become this large, but it did. It is 17" tall and 13" wide (so about 43 cm tall and 33 cm wide). My main focus going into this set was to make it as much fun to play with as possible, with lots of features. I also had to make it structurally sound for play, which thankfully it is ;) I never thought that there would be nearly as much enjoyment in creating LEGO sets as MOCs but it was very enjoyable! Now to the pictures!
(Note: Again the uploader claimed the edited images were not .jpg, even though they were, so that is why the pictures are quite poor)
Main pic
Main pic with minifigs and accessories (Argh! Just realized I forgot the brick separator! That would be included in the set)
Dragon Knights with the battering ram.
Fight on the bridge!
Working drawbridge, featuring automatic locking mechanism (so it won't drop until you lift the lever)
Above the gate
Overall view of the back
Main floor, featuring gates, tapestries, spiral staircase, and feasting table. The above floor is easily removable, as well as pillars for easier play.
Soldiers feasting
Above floor, featuring armory, pantry, tower, and mini catapults.
Secret trapdoor!
Put him in the dungeon!
The forge with a red light brick!
The Dragon Knight catapult which fires at...
...the tower! It features a break-away function toppling the top part of the tower.
Thanks for viewing this LEGO set!
Good luck Zach! Can't wait to see your LEGO set!
Constructive criticism always appreciated!
God Bless!
Quoting Adam Knorr Great job! Although the water could use some work...
Thank you! Yes I understand what you mean about the water, I don't like it either. Though, in trying to stay with the LEGO set fell I decided to not add many details because in real LEGO sets they aren't as detailed.
Even though my vote isn't needed you've got it! Both builds were great but I feel you had him on what amounts to "play area" in the build. Really close matchup though. Well played! ~ Chris.
Quoting Joseph Olson Very extensive! There is an evident lack of tiles, but other then that very well made!
Thank you! I didn't put many tiles in the set because LEGO sets generally do not have SNOT work on them, due to the fact that it would be very hard to play with.
Well, this is officially the second hardest matchup I've ever had to judge. I went back and forth and here's my decision. Dune, your build is great! It's a very convincing set and has lots of great details. While not as clean as Zach's entry, I think it captures the "set" feel better. You get my vote, but barely! It was REALLY close. Thanks for your entry and good luck with the other judges!
