My entry for round 4. At first I started to look at pictures of domestic appliances. There I soon found a shaving device with three heads, which would make the build very difficult. I started to build and concluded that it could not be done. So I started looking for something else. I found a sewing machine. But, that had already been done, I soon found on google. So, back to the shaving device. It was a challenge, but, I think it worked out great.

bracket 2

Elio Salsano vs. ~ Brick
Domesticons: Transformers normally take sports cars, jet planes, guns and dinosaurs as their alternate forms. We charge you with designing one of a new range of transformers which disguise themselves as domestic appliances.

The main pic shows the razor machine in it's full glory.

This pic shows it from the back. The blacks are for grip during shaving. You wouldn't want to bleed after shaving, do you?

The razors. They don't look sharp, but once they start spinning.

Hey, what happened? It turned around?

Oh, what the ....? Are those legs?

What's that on top of it? The top is opening!

A HEAD! WITH GREEN EYES! What's this?

Oh my...! It is totally transforming.

And one on the other side. That seems logical.

It's like the dude itself looks at it for the first time. (note from the builder: It is.)

It is not heavily armed. (The builder does not really like armory. It is a very sturdy transformer, it's kind of a fistfighter. (without fists...))

A pic of the head.

Detail pic of the front leg.

Fourth wall. (Please someone, enlighten me on this one.)

As told before, this was the most difficult build I have ever done. It was also the most frustrating, it kept falling apart...
But in the end, now I see the pics, I'm like, yeah, I made the right decision to keep building this.
The red lines were build in, because I liked the color and I did not want to make it only black and dark bley. A real product would also have something like that.
The legs took me about 3 quarter of the building time, mostly trial and error. I've rebuild them about 10 times. But, it does not really matter. It was a lot of fun.

Please let me know what you think of it.

And of course good luck to my opponent: ~Brick.

Greetz and thanks for watching,
Elio

You've already progressed, so I'll just say that you did a great job making this category work, as it is very tough, and both modes look very nice.

Well done, congrats! Your domesticon is very cool, and I know too much how difficult it is to build this kind of thing in a limited time span...

Great work of Lego creationism! It is excellent but it was very close to very good. Close shave that is.

You did the best you could with one of the toughest categories, and unfortunately you crushed it and earned my vote.

I expect this category is tougher than it sounds: the object has to look just like something, the robot has to look like a robot and it has to transform too. I think you got all three of those requirements so well done! Good luck with your judges.

Quoting Nick Barrett As I said to Brick, you've both built well. I feel your device mode is better, and his robot mode is the strength of his build. It comes down to the greater complexity and shape of your build, so you have my vote. Good luck with the other judges.
Thanks Nick, Greetz, Elio

Building transformers is tough and you certainly picked a challenging object... great idea to make it 3-legged, and great result all round!

Awesome build! To answer your query, the fourth wall is a theatre term for the fourth (imaginary) wall on a stage. The fourth wall does not physically exist as it allows the audience to see into a room, or other setting. An example of this would be on the sitcom, Friends. We've seen that coffee house hundreds of times, but never see the fourth wall. To break through the fourth wall means that an actor or narrator is transcending the imaginary wall and addressing the audience directly. Not sure if you really wanted an answer, but thought I'd put my otherwise useless GCSE in Performing Arts to good use :-)

Quoting David Alexander Smith When I imagined this category last year, this was exactly the type of build I hoped would be created. The robot mode is especially cool. Great work!
Thanks! Great to hear that you like it. Greetz, Elio

You transformed shaving from a nuisance to awesome! PS to humor you and your google is stuck on filter-LEGO-only; the fourth wall is that, that is occupied by the audience or cameras and is not part of the decorum. The characters from shows as the wonder years, saved by the bell, Scrubs, etcetera, break the fourth wall by speaking to the audience directly. Good luck and have fun!

Quoting ~ Brick I'm pretty sure you'll be moving on this round. Oh well, it was good fun! :) Very nice build as well. If I was to suggest one thing, maybe make the head a tad larger...but it's hard enough to build Transformers as it is! :P
Thanks. And I made the head small on purpose. Greetz, Elio
