LTC Viperidae
For those of Science, you’ll notice that the name ‘Viperidae’ is the scientific term for ‘Viper’. And, we all know what kinds of vipers are built in November, or should I say NoVVember! Yep, this is my first Vic Viper entry ever. This one has had the photos sitting around for weeks, but I’ve been way too busy to pick them up and post them. But now, Viperidae has been built. And you know what, I’ll even let you guys choose the faction. First guy to comment gets to choose Autobot or Decepticon. No renegades or third parties like Acidity, only Bots or Cons. But enough of that: let’s enter this contest. (Update: It's a Decepticon!)
About this creation
Not sure if this is obligatory or not, but here’s a LINK to the contest group. It’s the same group for every year, I think…

This video is supposed to show the timelapse of the LDD file I made. If it doesn’t work, my apologies.

Okay, so let’s start off with Viperidae in his robot mode.

The colour scheme is G2 inspired, with all sorts of blues and orange highlights to give it a neon feel.

There’s quite a lack of unnecessary kibble on this guy. Everything folds into place really nicely.

This guy has a lot of articulation. Each arm rotates at the shoulder, moves forward and backward at the shoulder, moves up and down at the shoulder, bends at the elbow and rotates at the elbow. The shoulder themselves also have an extra joint, allowing for more movement, and the head rotates. The hip can move up and down, as well as rotate. The legs use t-joints to move up, down, in and out, and sideways motion is allowed through an extra joint. The knees bend 90 degrees and the feet can move down. Also, this doesn’t really count, but the sword can rotate in the hand to give the illusion of holding the sword in different poses.

So, in total, he has a whopping twenty-five points, allowing for an insane amount of poses.

And now for the vehicle mode! A word of warning, though, it’s a little mistransformed. In fact, give me a second…

Once again, I’m really hoping this video works. This shows a full showcase of the IRL prototype I made. It shows the proper transformation of the vehicle mode. Please take that into account. There will also be photos and a gif of the IRL mode lower down the MOC.

The cool thing about this is that the sword fits at the back. Also, the guns can fold forward for extra power, and there’s an extra mode (I think) that might be shown in the video above. I can’t access the video from this computer; I can only post it.

Another mistransformed section (sorry) is the back part. Those are supposed to fold up and reveal the jets.

Okay, a quick look into the IRL is in order…

As you can see, the hands actually fold up to reveal the jets, and the front parts fold in.

In terms of vehicle mode, he’s about the size of a deluxe class Transformer. Or at least I think he is. I haven’t bought any in a long time, and I hear they’ve been getting smaller…

VIPERIDAE! TRANSFORM!

And here’s showing that it can actually transform into robot mode!

This guy took FOREVER to build. This time, I actually took apart stuff and rebuilt it to make it better.

A quick look from the back. One thing I forgot to mention is the use of the two back parts. Those are to fill out the back and give it more bulk. Otherwise, he just looks too skinny in the chest when viewing it from the front.

And a size comparison! He’s a little bit taller than a standard Hero Factory CCBS Hero, and he’s a little taller than LTC Spectre V1. He’s also a standard size when compared to a minifigure.

Some may be wondering if you get an LDD file. Well, yes, you do. However, the catch is that it’s in these colours. This is what I call the ‘canon colours’: the type that he would be in the actual storyline (if there was one).

The main reason for it is that these parts can probably be bought on PAB.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that’s it! I probably won’t win. If I chose a winner out of the bunch, I’d go with THIS ONE. It’s just such a good colour scheme and build. Anyway, please like, comment and add me as a favourite builder. And as always, happy building! :)

Quoting Scott Bourgeois Woot, first comment! Nice VV! His name has Decepticon written all over it. He'd be a good one to harass SkyLynx or the Superion jets. :D Awesome build, Declan - 10/5 on my scale... oh, I like his red/white color scheme better than the blue/orange.
Thanks. Decepticon it is. I actually prefer the neon colour scheme but the thing is I can't purchase it from PAB.

It would appear that neither of the videos are working, and that Youtube has removed the old embed code (possibly for good). I ask that the judges take these two videos into account for judging: http://youtu.be/MCF9dMUepSk & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad2EUuRU_dI.
