Scarlet Pimpernel
My creation was inspired by a Herman and the Kermits song, Dandy, Dandy, that kept running through my head,
About this creation
My all time favorite Dandy was the Scarlet Pimpernel, a novel written by Emmuska Orczy and was set in the time of the French Revolution. In the story, an English noblewoman discovered her husband, Sir Percy Blakely, was the Scarlet Pimpernel, a vigilante who rescued aristocrats from the blade of the guillotine. After making a clean escape from the French patrols, he would leave a note describing the caper, and it would be signed with a red shaped flower the English called the Scarlet Pimpernel.

This figure has in one hand, the flower of his identity and in the other hand, the sword that set the aristocrats free.

Scarlet Pimpernel has arms that move, which is a step up from my earlier figures. Now if I could just figure out what to do with the legs.

Great job on this figure too. I love how you made the hair. You're really REALLY good at making figures. I love the base too, it looks perfect with the figure. Awesome work as always.

Quoting Cheryl P Yawn. Nice weapons. Actually they are quite well done. You need a little more work on the arms.
Seriously. That was a while back. I've been working out a lot since then. And just since you said that, I'll show you. -.^ http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b505/Freeling16/IMG_20141209_225003_zpsc8344ffb.jpg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b505/Freeling16/2014-12-22_14-46-32_334_zpsb19b16de.jpg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b505/Freeling16/ygjg_zpsa6d0bde2.png (I do need to work Abs and chest more... I mainly work Arms in case you haven't noticed.) And Sorry for flashing you. But you asked for it when you said that bruh.

Quoting Tyler Halliwell This is awesome. The clothing is great, the hair with the little bunch in the back is perfect, and those lances make fantastic rapiers at this scale. Nicely done!
I would have to say likewise to your masterful creation of Torgrar. Excellent use of clothing and weapons.

Quoting El Barto ! Great looking fig! Of course I always think of the Daffy Duck version...
The Daffy Duck version.....I think I will have to look that one up. I wonder who played Merle Oberon's part on that.

I worked hard on the details to get the figure right. I Googled the period costumes.

Quoting David Roberts A super figure. It sparked off the Kink's "Dedicated Follower" again and reminded me of one of my favourite "Carry On" films: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUS89dI5hO8 The flower is so simple, from those four curved pieces but works so well too.
The flower seems to be the big hit of the creation. Both Dedicated Follower and Dandy, Dandy seem to be commentaries on foppishness. Carnaby Street was a big influence in fashion and style back then.

Yup. Oscar was quite the Dandy himself. Thanks for the comment.

Quoting LEGO DOUGHNUT(Sean Holway) nice job! i could tell it was one of yours when i looked at the thumbnail, also nice use of the lance as a sword.
I'm glad my figures are recognizable. The lance is actually a smallsword or court sword. Scale wise, my figure would look too large for a rapier.

Quoting Ron L. Mitchell This is one of my favorite books and the 1934 movie is one I still watch from time to time.
I didn't read the book but I sure loved the movie starring Leslie Howard, Merle Oberon and Nigel Bruce. Leonard Maltin gave it 3 1/2 stars and it was worth it.

Quoting Topsy Creatori I love his hairdo! As far as leg articulation... you might try some of the new mixel ball joint pieces, unfotunately, as of yet, they only come in a couple of colors. I'd like to see LEGO make some mini bionicle-like joints. It will also be interesting to see if any new bio joint designs are introduced when the rumoured rebirth of bionicle in 2015? :)
Thanks Topsy. I really enjoy getting feedback from you. I agree. I would like to see more joints in other colors. It would be easier to integrate with colors of the clothes on Lego human figures. It would certainly make them look less robtic.
