LOM Season 2, Part 6. A Military Builder Challenge for December, 2014. POV Donjnir.
About this creation

Donjnir sat against a rock outcropping next to the entrance of an old, abandoned watch tower near Guaire. He came here often when his social life, or humanity in general became a little too oppressive. I wonder if I could buy this place? It is probably owned by the Rainosian government... but they would never sell it to me. Could I buy it in the name of the Spy Council? We could use it as a dock for out ships...

Suddenly Donjnir heard a noise above the sound of the waves. Turning toward the shore Donjnir spotted Avelyn Torr standing just past the edge of the tower, trying to get his attention. This will be trouble. He motioned around toward the entrance to the tower. Avelyn, though, ignored him and started toward him across the rocks between the tower and the sea. Donjnir's stomach turned. Even he would not have attempted to do that! One misstep and one could be sucked out into the ocean, or smashed against the rocks.

Avelyn, however, did not seem perturbed and was soon standing on a small ledge several feet away from him. Donjnir felt like berating her for taking such a risk but knew it wouldn't do any good.
“I wanted to ask you,” the young Torr began, “if you would give me permission to charter a ship to Valdan.”
Donjnir stared at her for a moment, unsure what her motives were. Torr would kill me if he found out I had let her charter a ship by herself! “What is it that makes you wish to arrive so quickly?”

Avelyn turned toward him and looked him over, as if sizing him up. Finally she responded. “My reasons are my own.”
“You know what your uncle would think?” Donjnir said. Funny to think of Edrid as anyone's uncle!
“I will tell him that my coming was my own decision.” Avelyn answered. “And besides, I am only asking you because I want to do this legally. I am fully capable of chartering a ship without your permission.”

Donjnir felt his pride wounded but kept his face masked. “I could keep you locked up.”
“I think not.” Avelyn answered.
Donjnir thought hard. So she is leaving whether I like it or not. Not much use trying to dissuade her then. “Fine then. I will let you go as long as I charter the ship and send a trusted person with you.”

Avelyn looked like she wanted to argue but apparently decided against it. Silently she turned and started back across the rocks toward the shore. Donjnir decided not to stop her.
Well at least she will be out of my hair. In time for the tourney as well! This is starting to look better by the minute!
But what will Torr think? Bah. Who cares what Torr will think! As long as she is out of my hair... I will answer to Torr after the Tourney. Not much I can do about it anyway...

To be continued...

The build. I am sincerely hoping one of the 'large good MOC > small masterpiece' Admins will judge this MBC. This is my first time using a 32x32 (that is actually worth mentioning, though for most of the Admins this one would be small).
This is also my first time mixing my two types of water pieces. It's not great, but please tell me what you think!
This is also my first time using the side-rock technique, or whatever it's called. All I can say is that I used lots of my best pieces for those.

The landscaping. I know. You don't need to mention it.
The tree is not my best, though I hope it's good enough.

The tower. Believe me, it would have been taller if I had more 1x1 round bricks! As it were I will have to call it one of the outlying fortifications.

The interior. First time on this type of stair as well. Whatcha think?

A parting shot... In moonlight.

I hope you humans enjoyed this, a taste of what we _____ can do! :P

Soli Deo Gloria & Sola Gracia!

Quoting Gilbert Despathens
I think MacFiercest has mostly given up on finding his uncle by now (although I'm impressed that you haven't given up on your mad project to read through my story), but he could definitely end up in Nerogue. His main motivation seems to be buying gadgetry and hiring skilled people for his fiefdom in Rainos, though, so he's fairly plyable. In fact, he would probably be up for membership in your network, if you'll have him.
Oh most certainly! Maybe that's why he came to Nerogue... Ok, I'll feature him in my next build which should be in a few days... Thanks a lot!

Quoting Joseph Olson Gilbert, would you be ok with me featuring Ducan Mcfiercest in my next LOM build? Or would it be too much of a stretch to get him to Nerogue? If you want I could have him hire Edrid to find his 'father', or is that bogus now?

Edit: Actually, given my lack of any immediate or long-term plans for MacFiercest, feel free to use him however you want and I'll just build on that whenever I need him next.

Very nice! My main gripe is that the texture of the wall is too regular, but It's pretty hard to make really good textures for round walls. I actually like the tree quite a lot (I don't know why though). For the rockwork, I think you used just a bit too much olive cheese, but otherwise the rocks are really good.

Quoting the Story He came here often when his social life, or humanity in general became a little too oppressive.
Yeah, I could use somewhere peaceful like that :P Anyways, nice job on the build! I like how you made the SNOTted rocks curve, although I think it would have been a little more realistic if you had filled up the cracks.

Great work! The water and rockwork are quite nice, although I think that the change in color at the top of the tower is a little too sudden. Either way, keep up the excellent work!

Quoting Halhi 141 I like the angled rocks, and the overall effect of the build is quite nice - I'll give you a 3. (by the way, I wouldn't consider 32x32 to be small at all - my definition of a small build is about 20x20. Something around 50x60 like the build I'm working on right now is way too big a lot of the time IMO) Great build!
Thanks! My first 3! Thanks everyone for your comments!
