Reshak
Not all of the Makuta Sombrak were killed in Dark Epitaph! That's right, Makuta Reshak, the Darkchild, is back and with a vengeance!
About this creation
“Underneath all that armour, all that power, all that evil… he’s still just a child, who loves a parent. It’s so easy to forget that sometimes.”
-Takathorax, The Contenders #15

Reshak:
Reshak was the last surviving member of the Makuta Sombrak and considered the ‘son’ of its leader, Makuta Aroxion. Along with his 42 Rahkshi powers and four extra blade arms, Reshak wore the Kanohi Shelek, the Mask of Silence. Despite his large form, Reshak was essentially a child, especially devoted and dependent upon his father, Makuta Aroxion (the death of whom left Reshak devastated). Although Reshak created a confident and authoritative demeanour for his own "children", Reshak was at heart still very frightened and lonely.

Aroxion had declared War on the Cult of Thanatos and their deity, and needed to come up with a way to combat his opponent. In response to this, Aroxion absorbed one of his followers, a member of the Sombrak named Astrok, and created a Titan sized form of himself to destroy Thanatos. However, Thanatos quickly destroyed this new form, dispersing it's atoms. However, Aroxion's mind was able to survive, and with the raw energy floating around, he was able to recreate his body. With the spare energy (the remains of Astrok), he created a ‘Son and heir’; Makuta Reshak: The only member of the Sombrak who would be completely devoted to Aroxion. For the most part this was true, except for the fact that while his father was alive, Reshak raised and trained a Toa and two Rahkshi, Dukrina, Apothrahk and Thisrahk, as his children without Aroxion’s permission. He sent them away at just before his father’s death, hoping to preserve their legacy.

Like the other members of the Sombrak, Reshak marched behind Aroxion to the city of Racta Major in an attempt to siege it. They met the Toa Racta and their allies at the gates to the city and engaged in battle. Reshak battled Toa Benu, Toa Raxonax and Toa Montu and was able to overwhelm all of them. Eventually, all of the Toa ganged up on Reshak, who realised that the other members of the Sombrak (excluding Aroxion) were dead. Acknowledging his defeat, Reshak teleported away, and returned to Racta Minus, fading into obscurity. Three years passed, and during this time, Reshak learned how to use the 42 Rahkshi elements that every Makuta is entitled to.

After the third year, Toa Krode went down into Racta Minus with Aroxion’s old Mask, the Kanohi Kraahkan, luring him out into the open. This was done to confirm that Reshak was still alive, and also to inform the Makuta that his father was dead. Enraged, Reshak threatened Krode with revenge. He immediately hired Solorak, who at the time was a Dark Hunter, to act as a double agent for him. He then summoned Dukrina and the two Rahkshi in order to defend an oncoming offensive from the newly formed Contenders. When they returned from that battle, Reshak told them that he planned to resurrect Aroxion with their help.

Reshak summoning his children. (Contenders #2)

After hearing this news, the four of them set off, heading to Racta Major. They were let in by their double agent Solorak, and while his children set off to steal Von Nebula’s Black Hole Staff, Reshak battled and defeated the Contenders at their home. When they got home, he used the Rahkshi power of Gravity to help Apothrahk open the Black Hole, releasing Thanatos and the Destroyer’s Three. Reshak asked the demon’s help in reviving Aroxion, which Thanatos refused. However, he threatened to suck him back into the staff, and the demon complied. Reshak sent his children and the Destroyer’s Three to retrieve the Gate, which they did, but the Contenders withheld the key from them.

Reshak attacking Toa Galia. (Contenders #8)

Upon hearing this, he orchestrated a second attack on Racta Major, this time stealing the key and reviving Aroxion at that point, using the Gate and the Makuta’s Kraahkan. Reshak personally battled Raxonax and the Jankori during this battle and defeated the both of them. He turned his attention to Toa Takathorax. He had the upper hand for the most part, until at one point Reshak shot two blasts out of his hands at the Toa, who used his shielding abilities within a close proximity, deflecting the blast back at him and severely injuring him. He retreated to his allies, only to discover that Thanatos and his minions had turned on him, destroying the black hole staff which Reshak threatened him with and also the Kraahkan, ensuring that Aroxion could not be resurrected. His remaining children (for Thisrahk had died in battle) abandoned him, labelling him a failure.

Takathorax took sympathy on the fallen Reshak, and offered to walk with him through the Gate to ‘meet his father.’ Reshak knew this expedition would kill him, but reflected that he had nothing to live for anyway, so accepted. As predicted, Reshak died upon entering the Gate, his body destroyed and his soul trapped in the afterlife.

Here he is, fully updated with a slimmer form, an extra pair of arms, hands as big as his feet and a semi-articulable waist!

Leh back.

...Awkward...

Reshak vs Benu. In the old days, this would have been a fairer fight.

This is one fight that has never been fair, though.

Reshak and Shadonax, now the two main villains of the Wertman 8 Universe!
(Well, apart from Thanatos, but he couldn't fit into my photo box. And the IRM too, he seems to be quite popular too, but he isn't really significant to the diegesis... This is all beside the point!)

Height Comparison with the Tunneler Beast.

Reshak and his children; Dukrina, Apothrahk and Thisrahk.

My next MOC... is YOU! XD

That's all for now, folks!
4 days until Christmas! But more importantly,
11 DAYS UNTIL BIONICLE 2015!!
