My entry for the Middle Earth Lego Olympics; the Grey Havens.
About this creation
My Entry for the Middle Earth Lego Olympics.

Category: Into the West.

The Link.

The build. I chose the gray havens because it suited me and I wanted to try out a few techniques that worked well here.

Note: The first three Pics (and the main one) are taken with my family's camera, which was supposed to be 'better'. I'll just say that I will jot use that camera again (it won't focus correctly and even if it did it's terrible at taking close-ups!).

I decided to leave out the elf standing in the back-ground (behind Galadriel, Elrond, and Celeborn) for practical purposes.

I am Gandalf the White! :P

View through the arch-way.

And from above.

The build. This is my first time using the diagonal tile technique and my second time using the what ever it's called technique (for the dock). Don't say anything about the boat, just don't. I went through at least a dozen techniques (all of which turned out horribly) until I decided just to go with on of the simplest designs I knew. Needless to say it's probably the worst part of the build.

My first time using Gilbert's 'floating brick' technique! I added some leaf pieces because I thought they looked good, I'm not sure what exactly to think.

The dock. My most successful of this type, I think.

The tree and part of the small circular thingy. This is probably one of my best, if not my best tree of it's type as of yet.
Note: if they had any other color of ferns (as I call them) other then bright green I would have used them, as it were I don' have much of a choice.

The rock-work. Probably my best of the normal type. I'm really liking the dark green slopes I got in my last BL order!

My custom old Bilbo. I'm not sure why, but I like him!

Well that's that. I think I can say with certainty that this is my best build yet, and that I'll use many of these techniques again soon.

Soli Deo Gloria & Sola Gracia!

A very lively scene and perfectly executed! The front of the ship, the peacefulness of the depicted scene... great work

Quoting Hildigrim Took hey did you remove me from being one of your FB's?
Oh, sorry... I was doing a purge of my favorites list and apparently I removed you... oops. Out of curiosity, does MOCpages send you an email when you are removed from someone's favorite's list?

Cool! I actually like the boat! But it would be more mo vie accurate if it was just a bit bigger and had sails

Hey, don't knock that boat - it's pretty effective, at least from what I can see of it. You could probably create a better water effect by using the two colors to make patterns rather than mixing them together, though. On the whole, I like how you integrated all of the distinct elements of the build - the angles and curves, the arches, the water, the tree and the ship - and made them work together. It makes me want to build ruins set in the middle of a forest somewhere.

Very good. well done with the whole overall build. I like the design of the dock, and the rockwork is better then any I've ever done. This had better get to Round Two. Good luck!

Great Job! I like that you use all of these great techniques in your build. Your tree looks very old and gnarled and the ship looks very elf-like (it's a pity that it isn't white). I also like how you blend the different parts of the architecture together. This is a great MOC and I like to see people improving like this. -Noel ~
