Star Wars TCW: The Jedi Mercenary Chapter 7 - The Hidden Truth
Alright everyone, here is the seventh chapter of the series, as well as part 1 of 4 of the Battle of Taris. I have spent a great deal on creating what Taris would possibly look like in the Clone Wars Era, so please let me know what you thought of it afterwards. I do greatly hope you enjoy the chapter, so let us begin! :)
About this creation
[EDITED ON NOVEMBER 5, 2015]

(Taris system, fifteen hours after the events of Chapter 6)

High above the planet of the once beautiful planet of Taris, the Separatist fleet orbit around the planet, securing the entire planet by force. But with their numbers now thin, their security has little means of defending against any Republic forces. This little bit of information was perfect for the Republic to intervene against the Separatist and retake the planet.

On board the Acclamator Cruiser 'Adeption', the 772nd Battalion scurry about as they prepare for the upcoming battle on the surface of Taris. Many troops had spend their free time going over the tactical plans that was briefed yesterday, while others trained for combat with their new partners. In the Hangar, Kydan and Calena walk towards the gunships as they discuss the plans Higer announced to them yesterday and a little while ago.

Kydan-...And that's when we'll have them move to the east side while the others focus their attacks on the main front. Once were clear, you and me are to regroup with Higer and the others and capture General Rotinth before he flees the planet.

Calena- Right...

Sensing and noticing something wrong with her attitude, he raised an eyebrow at her. Recently, ever since going over the plans together, she seemed distant than before. That left him with a very curious but serious question.

Kydan- Um...you have been in a squad before haven't you?

Not saying a word for a few moments, she finally speaks up.

Calena- ...No, actually, I haven't.

That caused him to drop his jaw a bit and making him stop walking. She has never been in a squad before, and yet, she was a Jedi? Too many thoughts were going through his head at that moment, giving him a bit of an headache. Sighing and shaking his head a bit, he gave her a serious look.

Kydan- Well, you have a lot to learn before we begin then...

(Taris, thirty minutes after troop drop on surface)

Once the beautiful planet from the Old Republic, the planet isn't like it used to be. Sure, the buildings were still magnificent and amazing, but nothing could compare to what it used to be like. Back then, it was one of the most beautiful and outstanding planet in the galaxy. But after Darth Malek and his Sith forces from the old days bombarded the planet, it was completed annihilated. Now, after a few millennials have passed and the planet is once again rebuilt. But it will truly never be the same, for it would always be scarred from the horrors from the Jedi Civil War.

Underneath the wasteland of the lower grounds of Taris, Kydan, Calena and a handful of clones from the 772nd attachment try to push back the Separatist forces that were left in their sector, pushing them back far enough to score a victory.

Kydan- Blast! I thought the planet was short on reinforcements?

Calena- Thats what Higer told us! Maybe it was an oversight?

Kydan- Maybe...or perhaps it was something else...

Continuing their advance on the remaining droid forces, Kydan's comm link on his wrist begins to produce a beeping noise. Pulling to the side so he wouldn't be shot, he answers the call.

Kydan- Go ahead.

Higer- Kedone! We need K-squad over here immediately! Both D-squad and G-squad have taken heavy casualties and were running out of cover fast!

Kydan- Copy that sir! We're on our way!

Taking out the last Battle Droid, Calena turns to Kydan, waiting for their next orders.

Kydan- Did you get that Calena?

Calena- Loud and clear.

Kydan- Good. K-squad! Let's get moving! We need to get over to Higer and his men quickly!

As Kydan, Calena and their squad make their way through the city bridges, down on the ground in the front lines, Higer and squads A-M try to hold out on the main bridge as long as possible until reinforcements arrived.

Egile- Higer! We can't stay here much longer! We need to push them back to cover more ground!

Higer- We can't! If we try to push them back now, we'll be walking into our graves! We gotta hold out til' K-squad gets here! Then we'll be able to push through!

Egile- Understood sir!

Clone Sergeant- Sir, C-squad and I-squad have taken heavy casualties in the other sectors! We're now down to four squads!

Higer- They better get here in time, otherwise we'll all be killed--

Throte- Incoming missiles!

Just as Throte gave the word, a large explosion appeared in the middle of their barricade, wiping out the entire front squads, few getting blown off or flown off the bridge.

Higer- Dang it!

Meanwhile, inn the frontlines of the war zone, Separatist forces keep up the pressure against the Republic soldiers as General Gualo Rotinth observes the battle taking place from one of the nearby outposts on the bridge.

Gualo- Captain, what is the status of the enemy?

YG-3392- Their forces are slowly thinning. They have already lost three squads of their soldiers. I calculate the over possibility of success is three-thousand nine hundred and eighty-three to one.

Gualo- Excellent. Have your forces keep putting pressure on them. I want them eradicated soon.

YG-3392- Yes, my lord.

Battle Droid- Uh sir, enemy reinforcements have just arrived!

Gualo- What!?

Egile- Higer, look! Reinforcements!

Higer- And just in time!

Coming from behind, Kydan, Calena and the rest of K-squad swiftly make their way towards Higer and his men as they try to reach the barricade, dodging the enemy fire from the other side.

Kydan- Sir! Kedone Jufile and Calena Irune at your service!

Taking a look around the area, he saw the many dead troops and broken droids laid out across the entire battlefield. He concluded that taking the upper barrscades must have been rough and difficult.

Calena- I see you already have a lot on your hands at the moment!

Higer- No joke! We need to break through their defenses on the other side of this barricade, or we'll never recapture the planet nor their general!

Kydan- Well we're here now, just give the word sir!

Higer nods to him and turns to his remaining soldiers in the front.

Higer- Alright men! This is it! Time to retake our planet! FOR THE REPUBLIC!

At that moment, the remaining soldiers of the 772nd Battalion charge over the destroyed barricades with Kydan, Calena, Higer, Egile and Throte leading them all as each and every soldier aimed their weapons and shot down the droid forces.

Blaster fire was coming from all sides, blazing the entire war zone with blue and red heated laser blasts all around. However, the Republic side had the upper advantage with brute force, tearing down the enemies' defenses one by one.

Back at one of the nearby Separatist Outposts, Gualo was becoming infuriated. How could a mere group of clones and soldiers bring down his most brilliant and strategic defenses? How were they able to bring down their defenses so quickly? They had just teared the Republic forces limb from limb, but yet, they now had the upper advantage against them!

Battle Droid- Um sir? The Republic forces just broke through our last line of defense...

Gualo- Grr, curse you Republic scum! Captain, come with me! Sergeant, deal with them at once!

Battle Droid- Roger roger.

Flipping his cape, Gualo and the droid captain flee from the outpost as they make their way towards the Separatist base a couple clicks from their position.

Meanwhile, back in the front lines, the Republic push their forces up towards the last defenses of the city. While under heavy fire, Throte spotted Gualo and his droid captain fleeing from the battle on their STAP Speeders.

Throte- Higer! Gualo's getting away!

Higer- He won't get far. Throte, you and Egile deal with the remaining droids forces! Kedone and Calena! You two come with me! We need to capture Gualo once and for all!

Calena- But won't Gualo escape before we reach him?

Higer- He can't. Our forces in orbit are blocking all passage ways. He's got nowhere to run. Which means, it gives us the chance to capture him and retake the planet.

Kydan- Lets hope your right Higer...

Inside the main base, Gualo and YG walk into the main chambers of the base where their shuttle was supposedly be stationed at on the other side of the glass windows. But apparently, their shuttle wasn't stationed outside at all.

Gualo- What the--!? Where in the bloody galaxy is my shuttle!?

YG-3392- I do not know, my lord. The shuttle was here before the attack had started.

Infuriated and raged, Gualo and YG confront the droid guards that were supposedly to be protecting the shuttle.

Gualo- Guards! What happened to my shuttle!? Where is it?!

Guard Droid- Sorry my lord, but Doctor Vinscti had already taken the shuttle when the Republic started landing their reinforcements on the planet about five hours ago.

Gualo- Blast! When I leave this planet, Vinscti will pay for his treachery of lea--

Before Gualo could even finish his sentence, blaster shots was heard coming from behind and destroying the droid guards. Gualo had just barely dodged or sensed the blaster shots as they past him just inches away from his body.

Gualo- What the--!?

Again, another blaster shot came from behind, hitting YG in the back and decimating him. Turning his entire body around quickly, he was faced with Higer, Kydan and Calena who had all their blasters pointed at him.

Higer- Greetings, General Gualo. I'm afraid we must ask for your immediate terms of surrender.

Gualo- Surrender? Ha! The only ones that will surrender will be you Republic scum! If you haven't noticed, you are dealing with a Sith, one in particular that has trained by both Dooku...and Nedoura.

The name "Nedoura" made Kydan widen his eyes in shock and fear. He knew that name all too well. Every time he would hear the name, he would feel an uncomfortable shiver down his spine. To him, it felt and sounded like venom.

Kydan-*In his mind* Nedoura!? He was taught by him?!

Higer- I don't know who this Nedoura is, but if your a pawn of Dooku's game, then more of all the reason to capture you. But if you will not surrender, then the only choice in this matter is by defeating you.

Gualo- Hehehe, we shall see...Lieutenant Higer. I know who you really are. Count Dooku and Nedoura have spoken of you before as well. Your abilities has made you an excellent sword master of your little, pathetic Jedi Order.

Kydan- Sword Master?

Calena- What's he talking about Higer?

Higer: It's nothing...

Gualo- Oh really?

Gualo- You don't recall being a member of the Jedi Council or one of the best sword masters in the Jedi archives nothing. I highly doubt that, Higer, or should I call you...Jedi Master Tirun?

Higer stared at him with a shocked expression, surprised at how Gualo was able to know that he was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order.

Kydan- Higer...is Master Tirun?

Both Kydan and Calena stared at Higer with a bit of a surprised expressions.

Calena-...Why didn't you tell us?

Higer-...I will explain everything later. All that matters is that Gualo needs to be stopped, permanently.

Reaching into his robes, Gualo pulls out a silver cylinder hilt, depressing the button as it produced a red colored blade from the hilt.

Gualo- Hahaha! Once I have beaten you Master Tirun, Count Dooku and Nedoura will make me their right hand assassin!

Kydan- Your no match for the three of us Gualo! It's three to one, and the odds are in our favor!

Gualo- Is that so? Then allow me to make it perfectly even, shall we?

Coming from the other two sides of the chamber doors, two Droid Commandos approach Gualo as they pull out their Vibroblades from their backs.

Gualo- There, is that better mercenary?

Tirun- Kedone, Calena...you two deal with the Commando Droids... I will handle Gualo myself.

Kydan- Tirun, you can't fight him alone! He's too powerful, even for you!

Tirun- I thank you for your concern, Kedone, but I am an experience Jedi Master. I think I can handle him.

Calena- But Tirun--

Tirun- Listen you two, I appreciate your concerns, but you too are no match for him. I can sense that you both have a strong connection to the Force, but even together...

Calena- Tirun...

Gualo- Are you done making excuses Tirun, or are you ready to fight and die like all Jedi do?

Dropping his blaster, knowing that it wouldn't do him no good, he reaches for his belt and pulls out his own lightsaber, producing a blue colored blade from the hilt. Kydan and Calena reach for their retractable vibroblades as they prepare themselves for the Droid Commandos.

Tirun- Prepare yourself Sith! Kedone! Calena! Take care of the Commandos, I will handle Gualo!

Kydan and Calena- Right!

Taking charge, both sides rush to each other as a battle is about to clash between both sides...

This chapter of the three was a fun one to work on. Ever since I had started to create the series, I wanted to do something that didn't interfere with the other character's adventures, like the Battle of Christophsis, or Dantooine, or so on. So I decided to do one on Taris, one of my favorite planets from the KOTOR games. It was pretty tough on how it all would have looked like from thousands of years later into the future. So I went back to the games and looked it up on Wookiepedia...and bingo! This is what I came up with.

Also, for New Years Eve, I plan on sending out an early chapter of the series just to show you guys how much I appreciate you all for your ratings and comments you have given me. You could say it's like a late Christmas present of some sorts, haha! Speaking of which, I will also soon have the bios of the present characters from the series soon. There's just a lot to write and really picture at the second, so it will be about another week or so, maybe earlier if I'm lucky.

Anyways, I do greatly hoped you all enjoy this chapter of the Star Wars The Jedi Mercenary series. I would like to also give a big shout-out to the following people;

Dominik the Builder
Jedi Master Rave
David.
Jensen Anderson
Joseph Olsen
cyberfrank 2010
Commander Bricks
Romy British

If any of you have the time and patience, please go on over and check them out. They all have wonderful creations for you all to enjoy. So now, thank you all for your countless support on this series and I do hope you all have a wonderful day/night, and a great Christmas this week for all of you. See ya' soon!

Awesome. Definitely better pics this time, and better builds too. What were the grey bladed lightsabers about? I might have missed something in the text. Were they supposed to be non-Jedi weapons like vibroblades or something, as the two of them were undercover? Anyway, good show!

Hey man first of all great episode! The photography is improving each time you post which is fun to see. The plot thickens which is also fun:) I loved the effects you used like the 2x1 trans clear tiles for that explosion. I am curious about the grey lightsabers though. Btw thanks for the shoutout! Keep it up man
