Here's my Porsche 914! It's my biggest and favourite creation so far!
About this creation
Summary
History
Strong purist will say that there is only one Porsche, the 911, and that this isn’t a Porsche. That’s half the truth. It has been developed with VW, that’s true, and has been sold with a VW-badge as well (it was a created brand called ‘VW-Porsche’), it also has been created to replace the VW Karmann-Ghia. But the one I’m presenting here is the 914-6, so with the 911s 6-cylinder boxer and this isn’t a VW, for sure!

First Attempt
My first attempt was this one. Still, it already had an engine and gearbox, but none of those were working …

Updates
This creation is a big one, so there are some updates. The pics you see and the descriptions below are all refered to the last update.
- 01/03/2016: New major update of the car. It has new wheels (Fuchs alloys),
new rear lights (totally redesigned ones), redesigned wheel arches (now they fit the wheels properly), a new colour (tangerine) and new renders.
Design
I want to say first that this is a Porsche 914 like I want to have one. That’s why it is a little bit customized.
The main differences with a real one are the massive semi-slick tires, a sport-suspension and a sporty exhaust. The Fuchs Wheels were a pain to develop (and took ages to render) but fits the car well.
I’ve also used real blueprints (found on the internet) and converted all the dimensions into studs thanks to this Excel Sheet
It has:
- Pop-Up Lights!
- Opening Doors, Bonnet, Engine Bonnet and Hood
- A Glovebox and Sun Visors!
- Adjustable Seats, Mirrors and Sun Visors
- Working Door-locking
- Original Fuchs Wheels

Engineering
It is a major point of this car. I wanted it as real and usable as possible. So it has:
- A working flat 6 boxer engine from a Porsche 911
- A working 5+R Gearbox
- Independant Front and Rear Suspensions
- A working Steering and Steering Wheel
The most difficult part to develop on this car was the gearbox. It is a fully functional 5+R gearbox, connected to the wheel and the engine. Such as the gearbox, the steering and especially the suspension was a horror to build on LDD.

Caracteristics
- Width: 24 studs = 19.5 cm (7.7 in)
- Length: 64 studs = 50 cm (19.7 in)
- Height: 12 studs = 9.5 cm (3.7 in)
- Wheelbase: 35 studs = 27.7 cm (10.6 in)
- Nb of Bricks: 1973

Footnote & Disclaimer
All pictures and old renders can be found on my Flickr
Thanks for watching everyone! I hope you liked it (a much as I like it). Thanks for rating, commenting and sharing as well!

Hello Pierpaolo.
Sorry I do not sell instructions for this, and in general. (I don't want to make a profit with Lego).
I also do not upload files (Lego Digital) because of copyright issues.
But if you want the file for PERSONAL USE ONLY, then send me a mail at: xyezmp@gmail.com

Just thinking about building all them gears in LDD makes me want to stick forks in my eyes :P
you develop once a gearbox and then use it in every other creation. I'm building a 4 cylinder for my upcoming delta; and i'll use it in various other mocs later on. Same with the gearbox, 4wheel system diff, clutch, etc ... |
