Seren Territory
A vignette featuring my sig fig, Captain Blue Star. The vig also features Adam Kaplan's Tsuto Toorimian and Seren Brood minifigures.
About this creation
I created this vignette as an environment to showcase Captain Blue Star, my new sig fig for my Lego forum, Outside the Brick. This vig also features minifigs designed by Adam Kaplan, one being Tsuto Toorima and the others being Seren Brood minifigures. Basically, Blue Star and Tsuto are the good guys, and the Brood are the bad guys. Go to the bottom of the page for a synopsis of the story behind it. It is set in Adam's Toorimian Empire/Seren universe, but is non-canon with his story (unless he says it is).

Overall Vig

With mood lighting.

Mood lighting off.

Captain Blue Star

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

I like Blue Star's stance a lot, it's actually kinda intimidating, IMO. I like the saturation of the color in this, too :)

You're Mine

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

The world fades away as only the target comes in sight at the moment of the kill.

One of my favorite shots.

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

"Prepare for your death."

"What's Going On Back There?!"

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

Here you can see the construction of the back portion. Almost solid.
No death happening back here.

Shot Through

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

"And you will shed tears of scarlet."

Anyone know the reference? ^_^

Just You and I

Missing Something

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

"Um, Bob, I think you're missing your hand... And your arm is bloody and all pulpy... Bob? BOOOOOOOBB!?!?!?!"

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

Staining the wall crimson as he fell, the downed soldier sagged and slouched into a near-lifeless sack, waiting to die.

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

I think this makes Tsuto look very very cool ^_^

Balcony Seren

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

You are seeing this minifig in patented "DictatorVision!"

Just a Flesh Wound

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

I think he needs to get that looked at.
Too obvious a reference... :P

Bleed Dry

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

What do you think of the dripping blood effects?

Dying Slowly

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

Shot through his leg, the injured Brood is unable to move away effectively.

Perch of Death

And he is to remain there, never to see another thing again.

The fog of war covered the city as it burned. The acrid gray smoke of burning war machines was complimented by the flat gray tone of the tall perimeter walls of the newly-erected Seren factory. Now in the center of a large area of Seren-occupied territory covering approximately one-third of the Neptune-sized planet, the city Vie was the new base of operations and factory location for the new experimental Seren Hiveship. This was all according to Toorimian Intelligence, of course, which was frequently accepting sketchy info in a gamble to slow the rapid advance of the Seren forces. The Toorimian Fleet repair vessel in orbit of the planet, carrying Tsuto Toorima and his entourage of Titan soldiers, crash landed within the downtown area of Vie shortly before it fell. For the past week, the ship’s crew and the surviving Vie forces holed up within the ship to try to take back parts of the city. In that time, the new factory had been built and Hiveship prototypes were already being spewed out, accompanied with black, caustic smoke.

Captain Blue Star, a former Titan soldier-prototype-turned-mercenary, was called on by the Toorimian Empire to assist. Blue Star made it to the planet, but was also forced to crash-land in the city, with much cursing, due to engine damage caused by Seren artillery batteries. He landed three kilometers beyond the safety boundary of the repair ship, and abandoned his ship to begin his trek through the rubble that was downtown Vie. After 13 long hours of fighting his way through the streets, Blue Star finally made it to the ship, and came to Tsuto Toorimian, who was drawing up battle plans deep inside the ship. Tsuto had finished his draft of the plans, but calculated the odds of success: 1 to 1349. He was to go with three of his Titan soldiers and infiltrate the Seren factory, hijack the latest Hiveship prototype, and detonate the facility as he left. Tsuto’s confidants feared that he would be wasting his life by attempting the suicide mission, but he would not be swayed. Blue Star came in just as he was about to gear up. And so, there was a change of plans. Instead of three Titans, Tsuto and Blue Star would head out alone. Tsuto recalculated the chance of success, and it rose slightly to 1 in 1337.

The two left at 2200 hours, when the city got dark. The planet did not have a moon, so the only light outside was supplied by far off gunfire and the oppressive white light of Seren-refitted spotlights. The pair made it close to the wall without resistance, silently evading or killing those that were in the way. They crouched behind the hulking corpse of a Golem III, leaning against the building closest to the first wall of the factory. Brood covered the area like flies on a body, and the chances of sneaking in undetected were nil. Tsuto decided that instead of a silent approach, they would make the loudest approach they possibly could as a diversion, then call in troops to sneak in through other routes. Tsuto made the call to the ship, describing his plan, ending it with a small hint of fear. Tsuto then snuck around the wall, around a banister with a Brood lookout, and crouched near a closed ventilation shaft, surveying the area.

A patrolling Brood heard movement behind the broken Golem, and slowly approached Blue Star’s location. Blue Star, saying “It’s now or never!” to Tsuto over the comlink, pulled the pin from a grenade, held it for three seconds, and threw it in the Brood’s direction. In the dark, the Brood examined the object that landed in front of him, realizing what it was only as it exploded. The blast blew off his left hand, shredded his left arm, and blew him back four meters into the defensive wall with such force that he left a bloody impact crater centimeters deep. The Brood slid down the wall, staining the wall crimson as he slumped down, bleeding to death. The Brood coughed up massive amounts of blood that covered his visor, making it nearly impossible to see. Blue Star rose from his hiding position and ran towards the wall, firing his customized FAMAS assault rifle at the Brood that was firing blindly at the source of the explosion. The FAMAS blew through the Brood’s left leg, leaving it immobile at the top of the wall, blood streaming from the wound and collecting in the water gutters below. The guard atop the banister ran to the edge in an attempt to stop Blue Star, but Tsuto jumped from his position and fired a shot from his pistol straight through the Brood’s waist.
Tsuto certainly got his noisy entrance.
