Hi guys, hope you had a good new years! I'm back again with another MOC! This character's name is Helda; a female Slave-Class Steltian and Dark Hunter.
About this creation
“Thank you Helda- your compassion and decency is as immutable as ever. I'm glad to have had you as my partner.”
-Sohbec, The Contenders #40

Helda:
Helda was a slave-class Steltian and a member of the Dark Hunters. Although small for a Steltian, she was characterised by her impressive bulk and fierce combat ability. While not incredibly bright and quite easily tricked, Helda had a firm grasp of morality and a level of kindness that was unheard of for a Dark Hunter. Though in the end she would die for her beliefs, her goodness was so immutable that it would even transform those around her, even her cold hearted partner Sohbec.

Sohbec and Helda. (Contenders #23)

Helda was born and raised on Stelt, her formative years spent as a Slave Class gladiator in the famous arena. She was uncharacteristically small for a Steltian, something which gained sympathy from some opponents and in turn contempt from others; this latter group would pick on her especially, unintentionally forming her into one of the most vicious fighters in the arena. She was so fierce that her prowess caught the attention of the Dark Hunters, who recruited her into their ranks. Though she was a good fighter, she did not make a very good Hunter, given that her inherent compassion and empathy marred her effectiveness at the job. Thus, washing their hands of her, Helda was sent to Racta Magna to keep an eye on another forgotten Hunter, Sohbec. After quite some time searching, Helda finally met him and soon after engaged their first mission.

Helda on Racta Magna. (Contenders #5)

Hired by rogue Toa Dukrina, the servant of a Makuta, they were to hunt down and kill a team of Toa known as the Contenders. This mission was botched, but only due to the fact that Sohbec was distracted by a Toa named Tyranca, whom he held great affection for. Shortly after this, they were picked up by a sinister entity known as Shadonax, whom Sohbec used to serve; though her partner hated Shadonax, the both of them were hired as his cronies. Shadonax wanted their help in forming a team to rival the Contenders, led by his arch enemy Raxonax. It would take several months for this gang to finally confront the Toa, but when they did it turned out to be a disaster; Shadonax was killed, and the two Dark Hunters retreated into Racta Minus; the only benefit to the whole affair was that they were able to recruit a new Dark Hunter, an upper class Steltian named Solorak.

Fighting the Contenders in Racta Minus. (Contenders #16)

It turned out to be rather difficult to adjust to the new membership, especially for Helda; being of the same species but not the same class, she debated endlessly with Solorak, who derided her. To make matters worse, a haughty Dark Hunter Commander named ‘Slave Driver’ appeared and took control of the group. It was shortly after this that Helda received her third mission; with the others, she was to track down a former employer, Toa Dukrina. Many things interfered with this, such as run-ins with the Contenders and getting wrapped up in a political movement known as the Platonic Justice; it was through this movement that their employer, the vile Mordath, found his target. Their job done, the Hunters prematurely abandoned the fight.

Humouring Slave Driver and Solorak. (Contenders #19)

Sohbec and Helda were next assigned to protect an ancient species known as the Gostoks while they had their first children in thousands of years. Helda was happy to have a more positive task to do, though Sohbec quickly vanished. One day, Helda and the Gostok named Gellesyl witnessed the unholy resurrection of the evil Shadonax. Before anyone could be warned however, Shadonax had defeated the Contenders and taken over their home, the city of Racta Major. Helda and the Gostoks reluctantly migrated to the city, creating a new home for themselves. It was around this time she discovered that Sohbec had been made Shadonax’s flunky, or ‘Shadebringer’. She attempted to speak to him, but was barred by another Shadebringer, Makuta Astrok.

Helda in Racta Major. (Contenders #37)

Only once would Helda get a chance to speak with Sohbec, and only for a brief moment; she would also get the chance to fight alongside him, when the Contenders attempted in vain to liberate their city. She remained oblivious to the fact that Sohbec was conspiring with Astrok to kill Shadonax, and the lengths they would go to achieve that end. They orchestrated a conflict, allowing the Contenders and their allies to stage a second siege on Racta Major. During this battle, Matoran civilians were caught in the crossfire, and Astrok ordered her minions to kill the Matoran. Helda intervened in this, telling Sohbec not to side with someone so immoral. In response, one of Astrok’s minions, Catcher, slit her throat with his beak.

Sohbec with Helda in her dying moments. (Contenders #47)

Though Helda died that day, her bravery inspired new goodness in Sohbec; he turned on Astrok and sided with the Contenders, thwarting her plans and helping the Toa to save their city; all this was done in Helda’s honour.

Here we are! So yeah, this MOC is obviously inspired by the canonised MOC Gladiator... kinda. I wasn't really replicating any of the building techniques, just the basic anatomy, and even that's very strongly deviated from, as you can see from pictures. I just wanted her to look like she'd come from the same species.

The backside... EEEH... Moo.

Helda vs Montu

Poor Metru Man, being abused again.

Height comparison with the Jankori. Also compared to a HF minifig.

Helda and Solorak; my two Steltian characters. (Upper and lower class)

Helda and Sohbec; my two Dark Hunter characters.

Heh, you should know who this is :P

That's all, folks!

Slight update concerning Bionicle 2015:

Right, so I ordered all of the sets from Shop at Home yesterday. They'll probably get here by Thursday, give or take a few days. So I imagine my reviews of them will be coming up not this week coming up, but the week after. Until then, I will probably upload my next MOC and the first issue of the Contenders!

See you then!

Quoting Wondering Person I love it. I don't really comment much anymore. But great work! I do like it....I'd love a how-to! I for some reason can almost NEVER put on Bohrok heads on MOcs, otherwise it looks creepy...like, bad creepy. It dangles off to the side or is so thin when I'm posing it just comes off...
Yeah, the Bohrok head thing can be a bit off anyway, and it's difficult to make it look good. Inserting the hordika neck piece into the slot just behind the Krana tray, having the ball joint facing forward brings the head closer to the neck and gets rid of the gap. You have to bring the Moc's neck really far farwards though and put loads of bulk around it for it to work though.

Well. That's a big dark hunter. Well not big, but very imposing. I like the distribution of colors on this moc and the heavy look to it. Don't see the female in this though. Little arms on the sides FTW!!!

Quoting Andrew31kbrick193 /// Cool! It looks almost like a Bohrok that's been at the gym. Also comparing Helda to a HF minifig is like comparing Shaquille O'Neal to a hamster haha.
Thanks! Yeah, she's been working :P Yes, well, this is more like comparing Dani Devito to a hamster in order to make Dani Devito look like a giant :P
