About this creation

A companion for
Thunder 2.0

Firstly some acknowledgements:

Thanks go to Chris Roach. This design is heavily inspired by his recent Mini Legoformer Bumblebee. (In fact a huge part of the transformation is directly inspired by that model).

Secondly a large thanks should go to Scott Bourgeois as his Legoformer Gunner was another inspiration for this design.

Oh Boy. This Moc could be used as a tutorial for fixing the new uploader after the hour I've just had.

I started this about 6pm and was finished about 6.45pm (though several rough draughts were abandoned all morning so technically this isn't one of my speed builds). That however is when the "fun" began.

Today is the first time I've attempted to upload anything since the coffee disaster of the 4th of January when I destroyed my 3 year old windows 7 laptop. So now I'm using the windows 8 laptop and seriously I was not anticipating the issues I've had.

First up when I attempted to install Java8 so I could upload using Firefox35 I actually got a bluescreen of death!! When I'd recovered and rebooted the second attempt to install java failed because of some error in the background (possibly due to the partial and unsuccessful install previously).

So I downloaded the off line version, which worked, but firefox was still asking me to reinstall java (but it wouldn't tell me if the issue was whether java was out of date or not present). A second reinstall using the on line version worked. But when I went into the new uploader it crashed saying my security settings were blocking mocpages.

So I went into the java control panel and added http://www.mocpage.com as an exception and bibbety bobbety boo I can now upload using the new uploader.

Autobot Vintage

Vintage arrived on Earth many years ago and assumed the form of an early motor car. Due to his Cybertronian technology lurking under the hood, his obsolete appearance hides a super fast, super durable vehicle capable of matching speeds with even the toughest of modern vehicles.

Vintage has spent so long on Earth his comrades claim he's "gone native", thinking and acting like a human. His speech is peppered with slang from the 50's, 60's and 70's and is an expert on pop culture.

Vintage is definitely out of touch with current affairs on Cybertron or in the Universe at large, often resulting in him mistaking traitors for friends and new allies as enemies based on, now resolved, old rivalries.

He doesn't normally carry a weapon, however his energon core can be channelled into a concussive blast via his chest grill which functions as his "engine" in vehicle mode.

The Real World:

Ok guys just a couple of things to note here. Firstly those mixel joints are a pain to pose in LDD, so if you do download this design you might find transforming him a lot more difficult than it should be. Secondly the wind shield pieces need to be slid along the stud before they can be turned out of the way to allow the head to bend forward.

There is absolutely NO parts forming here, however obviously the driver needs to be removed.

Colours are mostly random choices but weirdly look similar to those of G1 Crosscut.

THANKS GUYS FOR GETTING ME ON THE FRONT PAGE!! WOOT.

Quoting Stephan N Hmmm, a new line. Looks very good Andros
Thank you. I'm toying with the idea of doing a steam train next. But I have so many other things I want to do too, it may never happen.

Quoting Scott Bourgeois He shoots, he scores! Awesome job, Andros! Love the MOC, love the backstory. Thanks for the credit! Yeah, those Mixels joints are a pain in LDD, sometimes the tolerances for real physics just isn't there. Still and all, a most excellent build!
thanks. I've had a few ideas for this one on the back burner for six months now. However that isn't the longest build I've done. That record is still held by hotrod who i did my first prototype for four years ago.

Quoting Simon Kicks Awesome Moc, both robot and alt modes look great, and I really like the concept of a classic automobile transformer. Brilliant job. :D
Thanks. As I told Scott back in July last year, a vintage car TF has been on my to do list for a long time. (Finally!)
