Lightweighted derivative of the F430 with increased power - the Scuderia

Rumors called it "F430 Challenge Stradale" first. Then "F430 Light Pista" was rumored. And after all, Ferrari presented this fabulous car in Maranello and at the IAA in Frankfurt, Germany this September. It is called "Ferrari 430 Scuderia". Scuderia means racing stable or racing team in Italian and thus refers to Ferrari's Formula 1 tradition.
It really is a name well selected as a lot of the Scuderia's technology comes directly from the F1. The pedal-shifting gearbox changes gears in only 60 Milliseconds. The 4,3 litre V-8 produces 20 horse power more than the standard F430, resulting in 510 bhp. Weight was decreased by 100 kilogram, resulting in a weight to power ratio of 2,45 kilogram per horse power! Aerodynamics were reworked and the exhaust pipes end up high in the rear skirt to not disturb the airflow in the diffusor down below. Extensive use of lightweight material as carbon fibre or a special fabric for the interior make this car a real racer for the street.
But you can also use it as a soft cruising car. A little switch on the steering wheel - called "manettino" - changes 5 different modes of traction control and electronic stability program; from rain settings to all off. The damper system can be adjusted independently - an idea by Michael Schumacher who helped to develop the Scuderia.
With a top speed of about 320 kph and an acceleration from 0 - 100 kph in 3,6 seconds, the Scuderia laps the Ferrari test track in Fiorano as fast as the Enzo supercar. The price tag will read 206.300,- Euro.
Based on the standard F430, the Scuderia was not easy to built. It required cutting a few LEGOŽ parts, however... I am not convinced by this front skirt so far and I will rework it a bit very soon. The other parts work really well, especially the diffusor and rear skirt as well as the new C-pillar with windows. I hope you like this new car.
