Here is my entry to round 3 of the MELO. I was matched up against Tim W. Here is his great entry.
My category was Sam. I built Sam carrying Frodo up Mount Doom when he was to tired and worn out from the ring too continue the quest. This scene really shows Sam's nature as a servant, selflessly determined to help Frodo. And yeah, that's Gollum lurking in the background. He's not going to let his precious be destroyed without a fight.
I labored over this match for a good ten minutes. It's one of those 51% to 49% splits in my mind. I'd like to vote for whichever one I'm currently viewing. Yours displays a beautiful overall aesthetic and captures Sam's character very well. Tim's seems a bit more complex in terms of techniques and the "action figure" posing feature is appealing (though the resulting gaps in the figure's joints work against his overall aesthetic). Having written all this, I still haven't decided, so I'm just going to go with first impressions. You both deserve it, but Tim squeezes by with my vote.
