Trainbridge
Train bridge made out of old blue LEGO track
About this creation
One of the first things I built as an AFOL was a bridge made of blue old LEGO track. I know that the idea to use the blue LEGO track is not new - I think I have seen this in some of the old LEGO idea books.

Now it took some years to "finish" it and make this small diorama to present the bridge. At the end of the 19th centuries they built these beautiful portals for train bridges - I like them very much - so I wanted them on my bridge, too.

This is amazing! how did you keep the blue track attatched to the bridge?! it seems so simple, yet so effective, you should make a layout to go with this! the birds in the tree and the swan on the ground are also great touchs! keep it up!

I had some of that blue track in the late 70s. Always wanted to find an alternate use for it, so was very glad to stumble across this :)

Love the mix of old/new bricks in this bridge! I've seen a couple roller coasters made with the blue tracks too, those things are great for any structure. I take it the bridge is sturdy with the structure?

5 out of 5 from me:-) Viele Grüße, Steffen

Quoting Henrik Hoexbroe It´s a very lovely bridge, and the train (Der Adler¿?) looks good too. It´s a good way to use those old blue track-pieces. I wonder how it would look if you substituted the 1-2 of the blue tracks at the end of the arc with straight ones...
Thank you! And yes, I have thought about this. While looking for inspiration for the "portals" in the public library and on google I noticed that most bridges do not show a complete 180-degree arch. And I already played a bit with PF tracks to achieve more realistic shapes - they are much more stable for large constructions. (I still have some of those bridge books at home and I'm slowly becoming a bridge fan.)

Truly a excellent arch-bridge! The brick portals looks fantastic and it's so nice to revisit the fine Adler train. The Whole scenery with the river and the bridge is so beautiful.
