Acclamator

This is my Lego Acclamator. The Acclamator was an assault-ship used by the Republic during the Clone Wars. It was utilized in various space battles, as well as in landing clone troopers on a planet. This model has 3800 pieces. About 50 hours of LDD designing went into this model, especially regarding the design of the frame. This ship has many angles, some subtle and others prominent, and I needed a sturdy frame to make sure that all of the pieces fit together properly. I used a lot of technic pieces and tried to maximize the amount of connections between parts in the frame. My favorite parts of the ship are the two slightly tapered sections: the center spine running down the middle of the ship, and the tail of the ship. Even though they are slight, they make the Acclamator appear more realistic and smooth, as it more closely resembles the actual ship. Also thank you to POV-RAY for the fantastic renders. Mocpages apparently lowers the quality of the images unfortunately. If you want to see the higher quality images go here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/94475 It would also be much appreciated if you could support my project on Lego Ideas! Thank you so much for viewing and please leave any comments you have.

Ive now supported the second one and I am sad to see it hasn't gotten MORE support, this thing is absolutely beautiful. I want one... I cant get the link for the LDD file to work, is it possible to email it? TommyBoy0329@gmail.com

Quoting Darth Reaper Wow! That's some fantastic job! Personally, i know the issues with LDD, which wont let me using some parts from original models even as they are used in reality, bc it kinda lacks any physical model, so i know how much effort this epic build could take. I was trying to work out some Venator models, but none of them was good enough. Maybe i should try some Acclamator first too. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comment! And yes, you should definitely try to build an acclamator! I've tried building a Venator in LDD for years now with no success...I actually ended up building most of one just using the bricks I had, because it was easier to get the slight taper of the whole top half down in person. Maybe I'll try to tackle building a Venator again though...Happy building!

Quoting Mr. Busy Hands The Acclamator used to be my favorite Star Wars ship—that was before the venator-class star destroyer came along—but you have done an excellent job incarnating those rather tricky angles into Lego form!
Thank you so much for your comment! It's probably one of my favorite ships as well (the venator is up there too!).

Quoting droid hunter Nice try. The Acclamator is a complicated ship to build if you want all the angles right. You obviously have some great LDD talent, but having built almost 3 Acclamator's myself with each one getting incrementally better, you should check the proportions of the ship again, cause they seem a bit off. The engines are also a bit too large for this scale. It's interesting to see a lot of my own designs used in this MOC. Which means that there is really only a few good ways to build this ship.
Thank you for the constructive comment. Yeah, I know the engines are a little big, and if I do actually build this that'll be something I'll take into consideration. I'll probably need to extend the tail to be longer (or make the engines shorter) as well. In term of proportions, what specifically are you referring to? I do realize that the acclamator is a much wider ship than I portrayed it, but I was using Reto Geiger's acclamator's proportions as a reference point and his is a tad bit skinnier than most other acclamators. I also realize that the bridge may be too big for this scale. However, despite all of these I am pleased with the overall design and how everything turned out. One of the main things I tried to do with this ship was to not simulate slight angles/tapers with just decrementing the width of something by one stud, but rather actually having, for example, the tail taper. Perhaps I focused too much on that and not the dimensions, though. Still, I'm very happy with the design and overall look, and I much appreciate your comment and criticism. Thank you!
