I'm not sure if I'd consider this your best MOC but I think the normal-looking shins are a good start. I don't think you managed to pull off the gear design in a convincing way, they're very large for the size that he's in. If he were a larger MOC, the thickness of the gears might not be as noticable. His torso, upper arms, and upper leg on the non-geared side look quite clean, but the rest of him is rather off-putting, with large gaps and technic holes. I think one of the flaws in your style is that it is very squarish, and the parts on individual sections can't flow together. Armor pieces can be incredibly useful in giving MOCs a more textured and smoothed out shape.
