2015 MocAthalon: Squeeze-Box
My entry for "On That Note". My team is Hard Boiled Potatoes.
About this creation
Here is my first entry into the 2015 MocAthalon . My team is Hard Boiled Potatoes and the category is On That Note: "Replicate a musical instrument as realistically as you can". I chose to build my accordion.

Building this model was a mix of fun and pulling my hair out, but I'm happy with the result (I just hope that the judges are too). Thanks for looking!

Quoting Builder Allan Nice! Very well done. Awesome work on the details, like the 'metal plated' edges on the billows. Nice work on the keys too :-)
Thanks, Allan! I'm really proud of this thing!

Quoting Jeremy McCreary An accordion at this scale was a gutsy move, but you pulled it off beautifully. Really captures the essence of the instrument.
Thank you very much Mr. McCreary!

Quoting Disco Chicken No offense.... But isn't that just a sideways piano?
Playing an accordion and building this accordion are completely different than playing a piano or building a piano (I've done all of these things, having played both instruments for more than half of my lifetime)!

Quoting BrickBuilder7622 . As an accordion player, this is great to see one of these built so well out of LEGO. That is something I have been meaning to build with LEGO for quite a long time... Anyway, my hat's off to you for a truly job well done. Love the keyboard design. 5/5! :-)
Great to know that there are others tickling the ivories around here. I really appreciate the comment, and I hope the judges agree with your score! Thanks so much, BrickBuilder!
