Chicago Fire Department
Why are fire engines red?
About this creation
A CFD color scheme style engine with an extended front bumper. This is a modified version of the Chicago Fire Engine 51 LDD posted by D. Stender on Emergency Bricks. Added info: "Red Fire Engines, Black Cabs, and Green Lights" is the title of an article at: Hudson Fire . Very interesting article about the Chicago Fire Department color scheme plus general information about why fire engines are red, did you know that? Why do CFD engines have green lights? Now you know! LOL

CFD is one of the oldest fire departments with a ton of tradition, the green lights and black roofs, and one of, if not, the last major fire department in the US to switch to full bunker PPE.

Hey Stephan, thanks! Yes, Sven is one of the best with stickers, Hey Sven! But I most of the time do not even use Lego stickers, just personal preference.

Quoting Jerry Temple Wow, didn't realize our fire trucks had a unique color scheme. Is it just the city or do the suburbs have this scheme on their trucks as well?
Hey Jerry, here is one of the links about the color scheme "Red Fire Engines, Black Cabs, and Green Lights": http://www.hudsonfire.org/node/9 Also a very good place to visit is Emergency Bricks: http://www.emergencybricks.com/index.html
