And here is a brandnew update of my LegoNYC. Spring is there, the air is warm, the sun is shining and the trees and flowers are blooming ;) During the wintertime i added new buildings, streets and other details. LegoNYC is full of life now because everyone wants to be outside enjoying the sun and warm temperatures. I've tried my best to take many nice pictures, but my camera isn't the best. So excuse any blurry pictures. Hope that i get a better camera soon. Well, now enjoy and discover all the new details and little scenes. Have fun and thank you for stopping by.
About this creation
3. Walking the dogs in the park, enjoying the blooming flowers and trees :)
4. Carpenters and plumbers are working in and around the bar.
5. Engine 5 is en route to a call. Firemen blocking the traffic for the truck.
6. Road construction workers are busy with drinking coffee ;)
7. NYPD and another FDNY truck en route to a call.
8. Many people enjoy some hotdogs and drinks at the Sabretts stand
9. I call it "reflections" ;)
11. And here is my brandnew deli/grocery store. It's based on the ground floor of the GE building but i modified it a lot. I added interior and exterior lighting with using a battery powered lighting string mounted inside of the roof and a Lifelites Kit. Due to all the wires inside of the building i decided against a real interior and added some selfprinted decals which show a "fake interior" if youre watching through the windows from outside. Tried my best to get a really good 3D effect ;) I hope you like it my friends.
14. Yes, i had to drill some holes into the Legos to get the lights into the right position.
15. Here you can see the backyard of the deli/grocery store.
Thank you very much for stopping by. Greetings, Sven
Hahaha, i didn't noticed your nice comment Oran. Sorry for that my very good friend. LOL, that fit's perfect to the back of the store. Litter Alley, following "don't take it literally". Sweet idea Oran :)
Hi Caleb my friend. Thank you so much for your very kind words and nice comment! That's so nice and made me smile :) I was in the same situation some years ago. Had not enough money for new parts etc... But i never gave up my dream of a big city with highrises, lots of cars and details everywhere. So never give up dreaming your dream and it might work for you sometime. I wish you all the best for it my friend. And yes, i'll always do my best showing you new city stuff. This weekend i'll get new parts for my Trump World Tower ;) Many thanks again!
I have always dreamed of having a huge lego city with lots of cars and details. You have made it a reality for your self! I am glad someone in the universe follows their dreams for once. Most people just give it a go and find it a little hard and move on. Brave guy you are. Nice job!
LOL, yeah was not my favorite part drilling the holes. But it was necessary... The parts can still used on other creations because they are not destroyed. So it's no problem. But i know how you felt. Thank you very much for your nice comment my friend, i'm glad you still like all the details :)
This looks great! Lots of awesome details and scenes to study. I like the street sales stand, that alley view with the cat and your new deli. It looks really nice, but i must admit my eyes watered a bit when i read you had to drill holes. I know it was to mount the lights and they do look great, but... Holes? In lego parts? Oh no! :-D Still, overall a really beautiful scene :-)
Thank you very much for your offer for helping me out with ideas. It's much appreciated. But the main reasons are lack of time and no money for new parts i really need for my other projects. I think i must edit it on my homepage. ;) Greets from Germany, Sven
Hey Jay, thunderstorms are my favorite weather. Love watching the lightning and the noise of thunder ;) But genrally i prefer good weather with sunhine and warm (not hot) temperatures. Yes, it's really sad, especially when you know the reasons for this tragedy. Was very shocked if i heard the true reason. May they rest in peace and never be forgotten.
Hey Sven, all that weather sounds boring EXCEPT for the thunderstorms I love that weather BUT if it messes up my plans I hate it HAHA, still pourin here but your right sunshine will come again:DD I just read on your homepage about the tragedy and immediately I looked it up:/ That's terrible I mean just terrible!!!!!:/
Hey Jay, we had storms, thunderstorms, snowfall and a lot of rain just before easter. But now it's getting warmer and warmer every day. Don't worry about the rainy weather. Sunshine will come soon and spring also ;)
Hey my friend, thank you so much for your comment :) Yeah, every shop, store etc needs a messy backyard. Yes, i know yours and it looks also pretty nice. I'm glad that you like it all so much. Thanks again.
The city is great, but I have already sait this a lot of times! :D The grocery is fantastic with the pictures behind the windows, I especially like the small black reflectors. The backyard is cool, too! It reminds me of my snack bar's backyard! ;)
Sorry for my late reply. There are some issues with the order of the left comments. Thank you very much for your comment my friend! It's much appreciated as always from you. Yeah we both had this idea and there was an incident. But i have to edit the pictures. If i have more time for it, i'll upload the new stuff ;)
Hey Jay, thank you very much again for your kind comments. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome and appreciated :) I often change details in the city, it's always in motion and figures will change here and there (not always the same). I think a park ranger is a nice addition. Hope i can find one in my mess of minifgs ;)
Hey Jon, thank you so much for your kind comment. Needed ca 2 hours for the snow cleanup. Oh i never before thought on doing a comparison of pics of the city which show how it was growing over the years. But you found the right post. It was my first one and the last picture shows you the beginning of all :) I'll think about doing such a comparison in the future. Thanks again my friend.
Thank you very much for your cool comment Matthias. Yeah i know about the M5 and that some details are different to the original street layout etc. It's not an exact copy it's only based of NYC to get the feeling of it. The M5 would never drive on the 1st Ave ;) But i'm happy about that you still like it all. Lol, the interior is based on a real NYC grocery store. Was searching for pictures of NYC grocery store interiors a looooong time and i'm glad that i found some ;) The advertising board design and lettering is my own thought out design. And no, never saw the Film. ;)
Wow, this is ridiculously good. I really love the hotdog stand with all the realistic Sabrett branding. Spring is really setting in in NYC. Also, having the M3 driving on a two-way road isn't 100% accurate (pretty sure 5th av and Madison are one way ;)), but that doesn't deter from the amazingness of your build.
Also, the deli & grocery "interior" reminded me of Pyongyang shops in 'The Interview'. If you haven't watched it, don't. It's quite bad
Great to see spring also has begun in your NY City. The city really buzzes with life, and your attention to all the little details is incredible. Your new grocery store is a nice addition, the facade is really great.
Yeah a key to the real NYC would be awesome my very good friend ;) Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm very happy that you like it all so much. But i'm not a expert in photography ;) I wish i had a better camera for much better pics. But i can use only a small one in my city streets. Glad to hear that all your snow is melting and that it's getting warmer in Urbana now. Hope that spring is coming to you very soon. Many greetings to you and Diane from me and Julia :)
Jimmie my good friend, thank you so much. Yeah i'm glad i had this idea for a fake interior. I totally agree with you. I don't like empty building but there i had no chance for adding a real one. Hope everything is working well with your stuff we were talking about. Many kind greets back to you and Jill in NC from me and Julia here in sunny Germany ;) Btw, every detail of the backyard is well thought out to let it look so realistic ;)
Great work of Lego "NYC" creationism! Sven my very good friend you have done it again! Just cleaning up the snow was a job in itself! LOL All of our snow is melting now that we are in the high 50s today. Your attention to detail and expert photography have made a very impressive NYC. You need a key to the city from the mayor!
Well my friend, you did it again. You amazed me with a new technique to bring detail and excitement to your city. The 3D effect is priceless when coupled to the lighting. You lose nothing by not having a full interior. This brings a level of richness to your city by having many building techniques and styles in your design. I really loved the cat digging through the trash dump in the back.100/100 Bravo and well done on another LEGO masterpiece. Greets to you and Julia from me and Jill in NC.
very nice detailed city, as i stated many times before;) the reflections look superior! the new deli store is very well done, those swing doors and fassade, just marvellous. Could i have one shot of the grey car parking in front of it (front and side view)? what car is it? Overall, enjoyable to look at this stuff!!! Greets, ron.
