The lands of Mythron had been a foreign place to me for the better part of my life. I was here in my early years, but at age of 11, my entire family had been exiled to die by the corrupt Mythronian government. 2 years after, a mysterious man had tracked down and killed my father and mother. His name was unknown, but he was known as the Black Panther. And I would have my revenge, one day. After that, I had spent the last 7 years going through the rigorous training of an exiled Ranger. According to him, at least, I was extremely skilled. He had taught me tracking, strategy, and archery. That was my real talent. My bow boasted a draw weight of 85 pounds, and I had accuracy only gained by years and years of practice.
But to the subject at hand. I had received news of the Battle of Unbinding, and had come to join Rainos. And having gotten here, I had just found a Mythronian camp. Was it an invasion? I didn't think so. Three soldiers weren't going to do much harm...
“Ranger Gideon,” I yelled, pulling back all 85 pounds of that draw weight with such ease as to betray my expert training. “Drop your weapons.” It turned out to be a needless command. Only one of them had a weapon in his hand. They were sloppy, especially for Mythronians on Rainosian soil.
The one with a sword still in his hand replied, “We mean you, and Rainos, no harm. But did you say Gideon?”
Keeping the bow drawn, I studied his eyes. Another thing that Ranger had taught me, eyes could tell you a lot about a person. This soldier's eyes looks carefree, innocent, free of deceit. Altogether, he looked trustworthy. But appearance could deceive....“Indeed,” I replied. “My name is Jonathan Gideon.”
A ridiculous smile broke out on the Myhtonian's face. “You are one of the sons of James Gideon, are you not?”
“Yes,” I replied.
“Beyond mist and shadow, you have returned! We thought you and your brother long dead! Did your father ever speak of the Supreme Spy Council?”
My head turned. The Council was something I had intended to join. My father had helped the formation of the council, and I wondered where this conversation was going. “Yes, he did. He was on the council, once upon a time.”
The Mythronian smiled again. “I am Jacob, Lieutenant in the Army of Mythron. I am also a member of the council. They will wish to meet you. Your father is still held in very high regard. We are traveling to the council now,” he continued. “We would be happy if you joined us.”
I considered the offer. The Ranger who had trained me had said that my first priority upon returning was finding the council. And it seemed I had just stumbled onto my objective.
“Certainly. I will come with you to the Council.” I wondered how they would receive me. If Jacob was to be trusted, they would receive me well. If not.....well, I had lots of training against that eventuality. It was good to be back.
Builder's notes: So this build was inspired by this , and I tried to improve my detailing. Tell me what you think!
Author's notes: So ever since Asad started his revamp series, I had in my mind to do one for my season 1. In any case, tell me what you think!
