Mercedes-Benz Rennwagen Schnelltransprter
No, it's not a supercar this time, but it's a super-transporter, world's fastest transporter built back in 1955, and built again by me in 2015, but in LEGO form :-D Never mind, here is my latest creation anyway, featuring the super-sports car, the Legendary Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing transported on the very famous Rennwagen Schnelltransprter in its original color, this MOC was "surprisingly" very, very hard compared to the supercars I usually build, but was a big fun and exciting, specially the Blue Wonder Transporter. Hope the results is good enough though, and hope you like it guys. Thanks for passing by, always appreciated.
About this creation

Mercedes Renntransporter - The Fastest Racing Car Hauler in the World

As well as its Silver Arrows, the Mercedes-Benz racing team had another vehicle that caused a sensation within its ranks in 1955: a super-fast racing-car transporter that was built as an one-off based on a 300 S model from 1954 onwards. In 1955, it provided high-speed transport between the race track and the factory, for example if a racing car required last-minute changes or if one of the Silver Arrows was involved in an accident and needed to be repaired as quickly as possible in time for the next race. The blue high-speed transporter blazed a trail across Europe with its silver load on board. This extremely fast commercial vehicle with sports car genes was christened “Blue Wonder”. The chassis of the Mercedes-Benz 300 S was supplemented by a forward-positioned cab with sleek lines comprising many parts taken from the 180 model. From the cab to the fully clad rear end, the racing-car transporter appeared to have been cast from a single mould. The usual separation between the cab and the load area was scarcely visible. The fast car transporter was powered by the three-litre six-cylinder engine with direct injection that also featured in the 300 SL sports car. At the end of its active service, the original transporter was used for road tests before being scrapped in 1967. In 2001, after seven years of rebuilding work, Mercedes-Benz Classic unveiled an authentic reconstruction of the racing-car transporter.

Blue Wonder Transporter:
Some shots of the transporter alone.

Functional elements, interior and the engine.

This beast shares the same engine with the Gullwing, 3.0 v6 feul injection.

Working lights.

The removable body shell:
I'm a big fan of this feature, so I always try to make a removable body in some of my creations.

The Gullwing:

The Mercedes-Benz 300SL (W198) was the first iteration of the SL-Class grand tourer and fastest production car of its day. Introduced in 1954 as a two-seat coupé with distinctive gull-wing doors, it was later offered as an open roadster.

Built by Daimler-Benz AG, the direct fuel injected production model was based on the company's highly successful yet somewhat less powerful carbureted overhead cam straight 6 1952 racer, the W194.

Here're some shots of this beast, it took me a really long time to be done, hope you like it.

The functional elements:

Everything opens as usual

And a shot for the interior...

The engine:

This beast is powered by MB famous 3.0 v6 engine.

215 hp (DIN), 240 hp (SAE), 2,992 cc SOHC six-cylinder engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, four-speed manual transmission.

And the trunk.

AMG version:
here's a modefied version of this beauty... why I did it?? because I CAN! lol

Hope you liked my MOC, see you soon with a new model. thank you.

Edit:
some guys on the comments section are making fun about the opening doors, lolololol
I SWEAR TO GOD THEY CLOSE GUYS!!! hahahaha :-D
Thanks for the nice comments though ;-)

Hey Firas! Have you thought of making the Lamborghini Ankonian before? I know that you've probably got a big project going on right now with a different car right now, but I think that you could totally do the Lamborghini Ankonian justice. Just a suggestion though, your cars rock!

Quoting jds 7777 This is probably one of the most beautiful MOCs I have ever seen! Incredible! What do you think about the new Ferrari FXX? That would be pretty neat in a Lego version.
Yeah, the FXX K is one of the most beautiful cars out there, and I think it would look nice in LEGO form, but I don't think I'm going to build it any time soon, but... BUT... I'm building a model right now as exotic as the FXX K, if not more!! Stay tune ;-) thanks for the comment btw, much appreciated.

Quoting Josiah Nelson Wonderful designs all around. What I really love though about your models is how functional and detailed they are. You are a great inspiration to me, and I'm sure, many others.
Functional elements and details are like the spices to a nice looking model, you can build one without them, but it will have no taste then. Glad you like it, and great to hear that my work is inspirational to you and the others, I hope I don't disappoint you guys. Thanks!

Colors combination was an important part of this MOC, I had to build the blue wonder in its original color, and for the SL I just love black, and combining it with red was the best decision I've ever made for this mode. Thanks for the sweet compliment, glad you like them.

Quoting Vibor Cavor Hahaha, I'm glad you took it well. I do have to admit that my ego usually gets the best of me so when I hear a critique I am like "What? Someone doesn't think it's perfect?" But then I realize that maybe the person is right and that I need to improve myself with every new model. And that's just what I'm doing with builders like yourself. Always tend to be strict because from those at the top you always expect miracles. Anything less that that and you'd think a builder has let himself go a bit :)) Keep it up, pal! According to The Lego Car blog you are one of the best. A place well deserved ;)
That's absolutely unarguably right! I think that's an important way in order to get better and better, otherwise, our "ego" will kill our creativity, lol, and don't worry, I would never take constructive criticism as a bad thing, I hear nice compliments all the time, I need some of that constructive feedback in order to improve ;-)

Quoting Cars Lover Do you have any tips or ideas to give me the chance to build cars like you do? Do you work with pictures or what helps you to shape this beautys? Would be great if you could help me :)
Yes you're right, I just work with pictures and blueprints and stuff like that. Before I start my builds, i just keep looking at the real car pictures from all angles and try to design the LEGO version in my mind, and then translate it into real bricks. No computer designs, no LDDs, nothing... I just sit down and put the pieces together. Hope this helps. And, your models are great already ;-)

God, the complete package! Not only the coolest hauler ever but also the most amazing sports car ever. I had a model of the '55 gullwing thirty years ago and couldn't get over the elegance of design. Also loved that it came with it's own luggage to fit "properly" behind the seats. The shaping is just phenomenal and clean, like the original. On both vehicles! Stellar, truly stellar!

Quoting Vibor Cavor Those are true marvels, dude! Both of them. You didn't even need to name the models. It is plain to see for all of car enthusiasts. Colors you used well here, shapes are exact! On the downside you could put more pictures of closed doors on the 300 SL. I guess some have already said that. We get it, it opens :)).... As for the wheels - the 300 SL's got great looking rims and I have nothing to say besides the fact that I'd love to play with these and watch them spin but the transporter's wheels... I'll be honest - you can do better than that, sir. Since I know you're one of the best I have to be strict ;))
constructive criticism and positive feedback are always welcome and appreciated specially from builders at your calibre. That's the kind of comments that I like to read, glad you like these models, and glad that you pointed out about Blue Wonder wheels, but unfortunately the lack of pieces and wheels always limit me in my building journey, I had no choice for these wheels, I knew they're not perfect here, and glad no one noticed till you pointed that out, lol, I'm so busted now ;-) as for more pictures for the SL with the doors CLOSED, lol, I just like it more with the opening doors, as there's an ugly gap on the roof because of the hinges, and yes, I'm showcasing it with the doors OPENED!!! Haha!! Thanks a lot my good friend for your great inpu.

Quoting The Evstar Cool! I think I saw the "Rennwagen Schnelltransporter" at last year's Goodwood Festival Of Speed!
Then consider yourself VERY lucky, as I wish to see 8ne in real life! Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks my friend! Removable body elements are just my thing, specially on a detailed under body work. Always appreciate your feedback :-)

Quoting Yann (XY EZ) Your creation is a masterpiece. The Transporter is spot on, and the 300 Sl wonderful. I've seen over 15 real 300 SL today, but I still prefer yours ;-) Well done and keep building!
Hey friend! Thanks for big compliment, glad you like it. And wow!! 15!? I really wish I see one in life time, not 15 in one day, lol, lucky you ;-)

Quoting Sander van Kreijl Wowzerzzzz. beautiful. I really love the Gulwing Merc. One of favorite cars of the best car brand ever (the rest are actually just copycats, aren't they?). The blue truck is less beautifull, but an almost perfect resemblance of the real thing. Except for the tail lights: you switched tail lights with indicators... Gonna stop writing now, and stare again at your MOC's. wow...
Wow!! That's one big compliment ;-) and long comment indeed! But made me happy! Yes they are all copycats and yes the SL is one bad monster, I'm really glad you like it ;-)

Hi Firas, when you post something it is always a happening! But this one is "dubble the fun". The 300 SL is a fantastic classic and you really did justice to it. The truck is very original and it was a great idea to build it as well. Both are incredibly detailled. Keep them coming !

What a machine that truck is! And the gorgeous SLS is not far behind. I love the AMG version. You should try making a custom SLS Gullwing that has the exhaust of the SLR. That would look awesome!
