Decided to post this a day early, as I'm going away tomorrow, so it was either going to be today or Wednesday. Seeing as I recently revamped Windbird, I felt that maybe I should redo Dread, too!
About this creation
“Clearly an organisation that destroys planets on a whim cannot be trusted to maintain the integrity of the galaxy. Therefore it must be replaced.”
-Dread, The Contenders #22

Dread:
Dread was a notorious villain from the Makuhero Belt, and the founder of the Platonic Justice. He was the last survivor of a planet named Gomorrah, the destruction of which gave him extreme hatred for the Hero Factory. Dread prided himself on his physical combat, despite having two cannons on his shoulders; also, in his final days, he wielded a prototype of the Hero Core Remover. Dread was intelligent and articulate, especially characterised by his politeness towards his enemies. Dread was susceptible to bouts of rage, in which even his friends were at risk of harm.

Dread was originally a lecturer living on Gomorrah. Due to its high crime rates, the planet became obnoxious to the Hero Factory and, at one point, Mr. Makuro carelessly exclaimed how he wished the planet would disappear. One particular group of Heroes took this wish literally and firebombed the entirety of the planet, killing nearly everyone. The lecturer survived by transferring his consciousness into a robot of the Gomorran Police Force. Swearing revenge, he spent many years honing his skills and widening his knowledge on the Hero Factory. He took advantage of the Villain Breakout to hunt down the instigators of the genocide and kill them.

It was here that people began to notice the villain, and he was branded “Dread” by the media; he soon vanished from sight, which allowed him to become a figure of urban legend. His four year hiatus ended when he infiltrated the Hero Factory, covered by a decoy copy of the prestigious Hero known as RaptorTalon, and broke out three villains- Tumbler, Voltwhip and Bipotron- from a small cell block and recruited them to his cause. While there, he met another imprisoned villain, Depravitie, and hired her as a sleeper agent. As he left, he warned the Hero Jenna Arrowhead that his next target would be the “Green Light”; A.K.A. Mary Windbird, who unwillingly co-piloted the ship that firebombed Gomorrah.

Dread’s gang left the Makuhero Belt in a shuttle and travelled to Racta Magna, where Windbird was residing. They went to the city of Racta Major and consorted with two Toa, Galia and Krode, demanding the locals to hand Windbird over, lest they enter the city and take her themselves; the Toa refused to give her up. Dread organised a siege on Racta Major, in which he fought the Toa; he tracked down Galia, who was protecting Windbird, and explained to her why he wanted to kill the hero. He also explained that he wanted to replace the Hero Factory with the ‘Platonic Justice’, a collaboration between many different justice systems that would span across the known universe, which would abstain from acts like the Gomorran Massacre.

The gang managed to capture Windbird, but she was stolen back by the Contenders, the Team of which Galia was a part. After his initial rage subsided, Dread divided his gang, sending each member off to find enemies of the Contenders and ally with them. Dread himself made allies with Dukrina and Apothrahk, after fighting some of the Contenders and Arrowhead’s Hero team. All of the Contender’s enemies were put together and formed into an army, which Dread named after the Platonic Justice. He then contacted Depravitie and had her break out of her cell and steal a prototype of Core Hunter’s Core Remover. When she arrived, Depravitie unveiled the tool, and Dread had the weapon attached to his arm.

He set out with his gang once again, in one last attempt to win over the Contenders and obtain Windbird. This only resulted in another battle, in which Dread used the tool to kill another Hero, Jack Lupus. He also tried to kill Windbird, but was stopped by Galia. In a fit of fury, he killed Tumbler instead. When they returned home, Dread riled up the Platonic Justice with a speech, but was interrupted by the arrival of the Contenders. Battle erupted, and culminating in an explosion which seriously damaged Dread. Knowing that the Platonic Justice was destroyed and he would soon be dead, he attempted to fight the heroes alone, but was soon defeated. He was handcuffed, but Windbird demanded he be freed. He was given her gun, and she allowed him to take her life, to compensate for the Gomorran Massacre. He politely gave his thanks before killing her.

Dread died from his injuries soon afterwards.

Here he is! I wanted to tone down the red quite a bit and also make him bigger, so that he feels more like a final boss.

Quoting Toa Gaim Impressive design for Dread! Junk Lord(violent): And they say I have issues. Junk Lord(gentle): I'm terribly sorry to hear about your lost sir, but if you need repairs we're the bots for the job.
Dread: "You are a curious one, aren't you? As of now I require no service, though you look like a foe to reckon with; I hope to see you at my side when the Platonic Justice begins...!"

Quoting 8-bit Aidan Nice moc! But something sort of feels off about the arms. I dont know what it is but they seem a little odd. Otherwise everything else is amazing.
Thanks! It's probably the thickness of the upper arms against the thinness of the forearms, which is something that's been bugging me too. I might change it.

Quoting Chrononaut . Really good, but the shoulders are a bit too thin.
Thanks! I appreciate that point, though there isn't much I can do with that, considering the design.

Quoting Makuta's Descendant - If I made a new HF hero moc and he saw this guy, they would be trying to get as far away as possible from him! Great moc as well though.
Thanks! Though every Hero would be trying to get as far away from Dread as possible!

Quoting JosephC 123 Nice spin off of Black Phantom! Liking what you did with the mask!
Thanks! Though this wasn't really meant to be a spin off of Black Phantom; the only real similarity is the helmet :P

Quoting Hunter Chains Jeez man! Does Windbird even stand a chance? I think the Jankori would be a better suited opponent :P Awesome as always! The red and black is such a good colour scheme. Really threatening. Can't even think of any cons! Nice work!
Thanks Chains! Though I think you underestimate Windbird's skill ;)
