This is an original design minifig scale moc, which began as an idea roughly around New Years. After the original and second versions of my Caliph hovership were built late last summer, I put ideas on the back burner for a larger moc, something that would fill the gap between Yoshimi's class and Caliph and Zoar's size. And then came an unexpected flash of genius, which I wish I could take credit for. This image from "Gingivere's" gallery was a brilliant technique with possibilities immediately obvious to those of the Matrix moc mindset.
It took a couple of Bricklink orders to get the parts (visors and tires) I needed, and I finally started rough work on the new hovership in late January/early February. The following images track the progression of this very rough model: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Image 9 shows the first (and so far only) public appearance of the hovership at Brickfest PDX, following a rushed night's work on it to make it presentable. No interior at all, and most of the back end is held on by some SNOT that actually didn't line up right.
Following PDX in mid February, I brought the model home and ignored it for a while out of sheer Lego overload. In late April I began work on the model again after disassembling most of it, and by mid-May I had a much larger hovership. I finally finished off the model this past Saturday with greebling and interior details, and now I get to share it with all of you. :)
Probably more story than I needed to share, but this moc has more history to it than my other stuff.

At first, I thought it was Mothership, not Hovership... Yeah, it's really good 5/5. Hey, that dude below me, this doesn't have the shape of the Slave I. The Slave I is upright, and btw, it's not that large and it doesn't have that big, fat top.
