S.T. Final Round: GS Silent Watcher
For the final round in the 2015 Spacecraft Tournament!
About this creation
Check it out on Flickr!
My worthy opponent's page: Stuart Lucas
Link to the Tournament: 2015 Spacecraft Tournament
The GS Silent Watcher is an anti-personnel type gunship. Its two guns near the front are very effective against infantry and light vehicles. To make up for the lighter guns lack of power, the heavy guns that are mounted on the top of the Watcher eliminate the threat of heavy vehicles. An intriguing aspect of the Watcher though is the fact that it can not only operate in extremely hostile environments, it can also take flight in space. Despite it's ability to do this, the Watcher can only stay in space for periods of two hours at a time. The Silent Watcher lives up to it's deadly name. Any resistance is futile. It will ultimately and utterly be silenced.
And that's that! :D I love writing back-stories for my different creations. :)
This creation is about 62 studs long, and is remarkably sturdy!
I apologize for my terrible photo editing skills. It is something that I'm trying to work on. :)

A sideview of the Watcher.

And da' back! :D

Two pilots can fit. And the cockpit can open. XD

The main guns of the Watcher.

And some side panels. :)
That's all for now folks! :D
Thank you for taking the time to view my creation, its appreciated! Also, if you have any questions, criticisms, or critiques, feel free to tell me in the comments below!
Good luck Stuart!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Quoting Stuart Lucas Josiah, thanks again for being such a great opponent and for your really kind comments on my final round entry. I can honestly say that, as with my round 2 matchup with Tom, I was genuinely surprised to get the judges' nod. Congratulations to you for a great contest, my only quibble is with your assessment of your own skills - you are already a waaay better builder than I was at your age. So keep building and keep branching out, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you produce in the next few years!
Thanks so much for the very kind comment Stuart! Really sorry about the late reply. :P You are an awesome builder as well, and I'm really glad that I went up against you. Cheers! : )

Although my vote is now moot, I want to leave a judge's comment anyway. When you made this model, I was utterly shocked at the detail you included in it. It was only after Lucas created his model that I considered the category you were building in to. When given the opportunity, you chose something with a military approach. Given two weeks to create an epic MOC, you took three days and built a fantastic creation on likely your first inspiration. This speaks strongly to your building skills, being able to carefully craft a masterpiece in an all-but-throw-together timeframe. However, I think your quick work could have also been the killer in this contest. Whether he intended it as a precaution or as procrastination, Stuart used the allotted two weeks to fully develop a plan and put it to action. His take on "Build a Spacecraft was more original than yours, a fresh drop of normality in a theme (sci-fi) normally full of war. You opted for war, and while you built possibly the most impressive attack craft I have seen, he built a model on a simple subject, reflecting his true feelings of spacecraft. It made me happy to see his build. And for that reason I am voting for your opponent. But remember: you came in second in the First Annual Spacecraft Tournament! Congratulations, friend! See my comment on his creation for more information.

Quoting Tom Remy What a strange and beautiful flying object! I like the overall shape and how you used various techniques and kinds of parts to achieve it. The touches of trans light blue are fine, you could even have put more IMHO... Good luck! You have a good chance since Stuart is busy extracting my mojo... ;-)
Thank you very much! Your comment means a lot, considering that you are one of the best spaceship builders in the community. I plan on adding some more trans blue sometime, just need to grow my collection... ;)

Quoting VAkkron ™ Hey, I didn't notice this until I saw it on Ideas because of my absence. Top-notch work, Josiah; you have surely given Stuart a run for his money. Your area of expertise seems infinite, and I think you are on a fast track to become one of the wizardly popular builders on MOCpages. You should be getting PAID for this! (Then with the money you could buy yourself a really good camera.) It tickles me to see you putting out models that are this good. Great work as always, friend!
Thank you so much! I try to keep things fresh with my creations, so I'm really glad that you noticed I'm branching out a bit more. :) You are too kind when you say I should get paid though, ;) there are many better builders here on the pages. Thanks again though my friend!

Quoting The Royal Brick Um... wow!!! This is nothing less than beautiful, awesome(in the original sense of the word), sinister, and in the words of Stephan, a true masterpiece. Just looking at this, really and truly bows me away, and you only had two week to build it! I love the black mixed with just enough trans light blue and gray to convey a color scheme, all of the angles that are so uncommon in LEGO, the great parts usage with the CCBS chest plates and the wheels for thrusters, and the overall shape. It's the perfect finale to this epic competition! Again, stunning my friend! ~The Royal Brick
Thank you so much for your extremely kind comment! I am so glad that you like the color scheme and the HF pieces. :) Here is to hoping that this is a victory!

Quoting Firas Abu-Jaber Beautifully designed! And in my favorite color. Too bad that you had to take down the Lamborghini though :-(
Thank you! Black is awesome. :D Yeah, I'm still regretting what I did to the Lambo... might be time for a rebuild and maybe an upgrade in quality for the Ankonian! ;)

Quoting Alexander Paschoaletto I really wish to be that good at making spaceships. Your model is awesome, I really like it! It reminds me an animal in fact, but I can't figure it out now hahaha keep it up, my friend! And it's a shame the Ankonian is over, but if its replacement is good, it's not something bad at all :)
Thank you so much Alex! Don't worry, building spaceships can be really tough to do. But I know that I can't build cars like you do, every time I see one of your creations I am blown away! Its a pity though that I had to destroy the Ankonian... ;)

Quoting Tim C Yep. Still awesome. I can't get over how menacing this thing looks. It must be that angled nose. Really nice touch. It's nice to see a series of shots of this beaut. A lot of details that I didn't get to see over on Flickr. I love those engines, and some nice use of the bio pieces, unless those are HF pieces, (I can never tell), in which case, nice use of those HF pieces. Top notch stuff. I guess I didn't get a good enough look, but I didn't notice at first that you built this to mini scale. Hats off, man. Also, you named it well. Silent watcher? Gives me chills. Makes me want to make sure I have the blinds drawn. XD Great work!
Thank you again Tim! I'm really glad you like the nose, because at first, it was just really thin and pointy, but I knew that that just wouldn't do! :) Also, I like the name as well. I think that it is very fitting. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! :)

Quoting Mr. Cab I wish I could build spacecraft like that...
Just keep on brick'in, and after a bit, you can find that you can build anything! : ) I know that I can't build medieval as good as you can, so some people are good at some things like sci-fi, medieval, city, etc. it just takes practice (and patience!) to build anything. Keep up the great work Mr. Cab!
