My apologies (I know, I always start with an apology) for not posting a MOC yesterday, and for not posting Contenders #11 last week, like I normally do. Anyway, here's an updated version of one of my HF Villains, Joey Tumbler!
About this creation
ďLaugh if you want, Toa! As much as it hurts, my plasma cannon will hurt more!Ē
-Tumbler to Dorru, The Contenders #22

Joey Tumbler:
Joey Tumbler was a rogue Hero, a member of Dreadís gang and a founder of the Platonic Justice. Despite his bloated physique, Tumbler was a very strong and powerful fighter, specialising in powerful yet infrequent blows from the plasma cannon on his left arm. Joey was short tempered and petulant, lacking confidence in his mock obesity and was extraordinarily sensitive to criticism or, worse still, teasing. This was not unprecedented, however, as he was frequently teased by friend and foe alike; both as hero and villain, he felt like an outsider.

Tumbler was designed as a ĎHeavy-Duty Heroí by the Hero Factory, intended to be the evolution of Heroes like Duncan Bulk. Unfortunately, his bulky guise posed more as a detriment than an advantage, and so the project was dropped and he was assigned to Jenna Arrowheadís Team. Tumbler eventually managed to adapt to his body, all the while dealing with the joking of his fellow Heroes, as his appearance was similar to that of a fat man. He initially took this teasing sportingly, yet soon enough it began to grate on him. He had one friend to help him through this; the teamís jovial pilot, Sanah Torch.

Tumblerís original 3.0 form. (Tumbler V1)

During the ďSavage PlanetĒ mission, Arrowhead's team was sent to Quadros to back up the Alpha Team. They was called back quite quickly due to the Alpha Teamís efficiency in handling the situation. The group accidently left Tumbler behind on the jungle planet as they returned back. Joey, who believed this to be a prank pulled by Sanah, who was piloting the ship, was enraged. Trying to take advantage of the Villain Breakout, He stowed away on a cargo ship heading to Makuhero City and attempted to burn the Assembly Tower to the ground with explosives. However, Torch caught him in the process and apprehended him before he could finish the job.

Tumbler imprisoned with Voltwhip and Bipotron. (Contenders #18)

Four years later, Joey Tumbler was released from his cell by a decoy model of the Hero RaptorTalon, which was being commanded by the villainous Dread. He joined his ranks along with two others, Voltwhip and Bipotron, and they left the Makuhero Belt on a shuttle. They set out looking for Mary Windbird, a hero whom Dread wanted to kill. They tracked her location to Racta Major, a city on the planet Racta Magna. The group approached two locals, Toa Krode and Toa Galia, and presented them with an ultimatum; either that they give Windbird up or she will be taken by force. Krode responded by blasting flames into Tumblerís face. Though only his pride was hurt, it was sufficient motivation for the gang to attack the city.

In this battle, Tumbler fought once again with Torch and a Toa named Dorru. Although he defeated these two, the gang were unable to take Windbird. Once Dread had subsided from his fit of rage, he ordered the gang to split up; each member would search out a faction that hated Racta Major enough to help them break into it a second time. He travelled for some time until he encountered Mordath and a band of Dark Hunters, whom he saw potential allies in. He approached another Hunter, Sohbec, and told him of the Platonic Justice, the name of Dreadís new movement. They were interrupted by Dorru and Sanah Torch. With Sohbecís help, Tumbler managed to defeat the two of them and was led back to the other Dark Hunters, whom he invited to join the Platonic Justice.

Tumbler was then sent out by Dread to pick up the villain Depravitie, who had arrived on the planet with a package for Dread; this turned out to be a prototype of Core Hunterís Core Removal Tool, which would destroy a heroís core instead of simply extracting it. Dread had it attached to his arm, and ordered his gang to follow him to Racta Minus, where he would appeal to the denizens of Racta Major one final time. This did not work, and resulted in more fighting. Tumbler confronted Dorru once again, this time helped by another Toa named Tyranca. He initially dominated them, but his leg was seriously damaged by Tyranca. The group failed to get Windbird, much to Dreadís fury.

Tumbler begged Dread to help him with his leg injury, but the enraged villain merely turned on him, using the Core Removal Tool to extract Tumblerís own Hero Core, killing him in the process.

Here is the upgraded version! Sorry, no segway of doom this time; I wanted to focus on Joey himself. See the original here.

The Back.

:P

Height comparison with Toa Onua.

Fighting Toa Dorru.

Bad idea, Metru Man!

I guess the main thing to know about Tumbler is that he has a very low self-esteem.

Dread's Gang!

Joey Tumbler and Sanah Torch!

That's all folks!

Contenders #11 should be out on friday, sorry for the delay.
