What's that up in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
About this creation
Surely it's just a little fluffy cloud, floating peacefully through the blue, minding its own business and perhaps serving as inspiration for a nearby poet.
Or perhaps not! It's actually the New Corsairs' latest development in stealth lighter-than-aircraft - the 'Little Fluffy Cloud' class airship. Ready to rain down unsettling and inconvenient weather conditions upon the battlefields of D.A.2: Up from the Ashes!
The M.O. of the Little Fluffy Cloud - or 'Kettleys' as they are affectionately known - is to drift over enemy territory camouflaged by the cloud cover. The use of mostly non-metallic materials and the reflective coating on the cabin slung beneath the balloon makes them practically invisible to radar.
Apart from reconnaissance, the acid rain sprayer on the starboard side is equally useful for sabotaging enemy infrastructure and giving ground troops an uncomfortable time. The lightning strike generator to port makes up in destructive potential for what it lacks in pinpoint accuracy!
Little Fluffy Clouds are deployed from small airfields such as these that can rapidly be assembled near borders with hostile powers. Landcrew manoeuvre the airships in and out of the hangars, and fill the ballons from he helium tanks in the top left.
While LFC's often rely on the prevailing wind to take them where they need to go, sometimes some propulsion is necessary to beat a hasty retreat with the important intel they have gathered!

"What were the skies like when you were a child?" Full of airships obviously! A great concept and I like the mix of brick-built ballon and hangars made from big chunks. Loving your adventure into LDD! https://vimeo.com/68906475
