What happens when the organizers of an upcoming show request a last-minute build "emblematic of our home city".
About this creation
Please feel free to look over the images and skip the verbiage.

The organizers of an upcoming show downtown asked us (DENLUG) to come up with an 11th-hour build "emblematic of our home city".

When the dust cleared a couple of hours later, I found myself with this.

Overview

The high-rise in the front row on the left is a lame representation of the iconic Wells Fargo Center, better known locally as the "Mailbox Building" or "Cash Register Building".

The park-like area with flowering tree and plaza with fountain vaguely evoke the pedestrian- and bus-only 16th Street Mall.

You don't often see 8-story fountains, but I figured a fountain to match our mountains would be more emblematic than reality.

Otherwise, I made no effort to portray specific landmarks, and of course, nothing's to scale.

It's sturdier than it looks.

Contrary to recent popular misconceptions, we're a mile high here because there's a mile of dirt and rock (mostly rock) between us and sea level. Honest. Absolutely no other reason. No siree, Bob.

Quoting Oliver Becker So it's a non rotating ore moving MOC of you Jeremy, that's not typical your style! I believe, with a little more time you would have constructed a swinging in "S" at the bottom... ;)
Thanks, Oliver! Great idea -- might even add it for our next Denver show. Yes, non-moving things are clearly outside my area of expertise, and it kinda shows.

Quoting Topsy Creatori Ingeniuosly clever... made even more so given the circumstances of its building! :)
Thanks, Topsy! Deadlines like that are one of the few things that can keep me from overthinking things.
