Arc Republic Gunship
After many many years of off and on building, It is finally done! The republic gunship is one of my favorite vehicles in the Star Wars Universe, especially the most iconic in the Clone Wars. Though one variant of the ship sticks out, and that is the Arc Gunship. This ship features blue wings and stripes along the body of the ship, but the most striking feature is the fearsome Rancor face on the front.
About this creation
The Build: First off, let me say how awesome Mike Psiaki's rendition of the ship was. I drew a lot of inspiration and design from his Gunship. I initially built mine just like Mikes . After awhile I then realized I could not put the rancor's face on the way it should, so I modified the front. As well as changing other various parts of the ship to make it more of my own. changes including, the cockpit/canopy, troop deck, side doors, rear ramp, and the wings. With some of these mods, I was forced to add some transparent technic beams for support and rigidity. Unfortunately this cuts into the build, but was needed.

Features: The Gunship sports the customized Arc variant color scheme, based off the same Arc Gunship from Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Clone Wars' cartoon . The face of the ship, striping along the side and the wings, are custom decals, made by me. There is a full sized rear folding ramp, which can fit two speeder bikes. Rotating missile loader. Liftable handle, for take off. and Last but not least, Side sliding doors, which can be opened simultaneously (When one opens, the other opens with it).

This is absolutely fantastic! Every detail is meticulously and beautifully included, and I'm incredibly impressed. It's great to see such a unique gunship built - and a real shame that Lego never gave the 03 Clone Wars any love

This is awesome. Yet another thing from that fantastic show that was never made into a set. Now, as desired as it has been and still is, I don't think a set could do it justice, but man I still want one. The Arc Troopers were one of the many great things about that original series. Great job capturing the essence of both the team and their Gunship.

My LAAT is about 99% complete. i might post some preview pics soon. your beautiful model motivated me to remake mine, with some more details than my last version. id love to hear what you think, and i also provided some pictures on how i did the angles outer rim of the back door, still keeping it stable. i love looking at your model for inspiration, truely amazing

Quoting silly productions oh sorry haha. i am a lazy reader. anyways this thing is awesome. i'm currently finishing up my own LAAT as my first ever star wars moc, and i found using technic pieces for the back of the canopy makes it very stable. i can hold mine with one hand and fly it around like crazy and it still looks good. i also get what you're saying about the wings, it seems that i just made a mistake on my own design and you are infact right. all i need is the wing turrets... im stuck. i refuse to use LEGOs one piece plastic design but i am running out of options. anyways i might put up a work in progress moc on here, and i would love to hear what you think. stay tuned and maybe check out my other stuff for now? great build. faving you.
That sounds awesome, I will keep an eye out for it. The round bubbles are not a bad option in my opinion, since the real one features a glass like dome over it anyways.

Quoting silly productions very nice. the only things that i don't like on this model would have to be: the invisible wall you used to hold up the canopy, connecting to the bay,and the wings look a tad too long. however, this is a great model and it is highly detailed. 5/5. another thing, it is obvious that you copied mikes design for the missile launcher/engines. at least the front of them. you should probably give him some credit for that before you start getting a lot of hate on here. i love how you did the missiles though.
Thanks Silly P. I am saddened I had to use such a support, because it really obstructs the flow of the troop bay, but there was no way I could get around it, I have no idea how Mike did his, because I tried it, and the deck bends a bit while it sits. I disagree about the wings, I looked at many sources, and the wings are about touching the ground. Maybe the pictures make it look longer? Also, if you read my longish paragraph, You would see that I mentioned Mike as my inspiration. Maybe I did not make it clear enough that I was giving him enough credit. But yes, a good chunk of it was borrowed from Mike's MOC. Please look in my WIP folder and you will see an older version of this which resembles his more closely.

Quoting Pieter Vanden Meersschaut Awesome work dude! The details are awesome and I love the stickers! I've build one too a few years back (you can check it out on my page), but I have to say that I like yours better then mine!
Thanks Pieter! I have seen yours, it is good. difference between mine and yours, is that yours is durable enough for play, while mine is not..
