This is my entry to a MOC-off with Timothy Post for the Lands of Mythron.
The challenge was to build a cheese mosaic. It can have a few non-cheese elements, but mostly cheese. We also had the option of surrounding it with a scene, although the judging will be mainly on the mosaics.
I really wanted to make some mosaics of people. The first one I built was a Rainosian, with a spear and shield. I quite like this one, and some of the offsets were pretty tricky, especially surrounding the spear.
As you can see, except for the spear thing, some 1x1 plates and a bit of cut flex tubing for that one awkward gap, this mosaic is all cheese.
Next, I decided to make a more burly orc to represent the Outlaws. This one is vaguely based off of the Orc torsos for the 2007 fantasy castle line. The trickiest part were the horns.
This one involves some longer _x1 plates, because I ran out of white cheese. Although the expanse under the left arm doesn't look like cheese, most of it still is. It's just the 1x2 variety.
Sorry for some bad editing on that picture.
And finally, the Enalican soldier, to show off my gold cheese and 1x1 plates. I really like this one, and it's based off of Armon's golden army soldiers. The trickiest part here was the sword.
And, as you can see, this one is also mostly cheese. Although it does have several 1x1 bricks and a 1x2 brick, plus some 1x3 plates and some 1x1 plates and some 1x2 plates. And a bit of flex tubing for the gap.
This moc took three days, with one mosaic for each. I wanted to do all five factions, but I used all my blue cheese in the orc one, so I couldn't do Mythron, and I don't have enough dark green cheese for Nerogue. Plus I didn't have enough time.
Also, this is the very first LOM MOC-off entry! Wow. I really thought we would have had some moc-offs by now, since it's been two weeks since we introduced them. Whatever.
Lastly, I think Halhi wanted to judge, but we still need two more judges for this MOC-off. First come, first serve if you want to judge, although Timothy and I both have to approve you.
Wow, those are great. You must have considerable problem-solving skills to pull something like this off. They remind me of the cards used for character selection in the (very) vintage computer RPG Ultima IV, which I am pretty sure you've never heard of. Fantastic work, I must say!
Awesome job! I love the golden army guy, and that Rainosian is quite good as well! I'm not as much a fan of the troll (looks a bit chunky in places), but overall this is amazing!
Oh yes, and I can judge if you need a third judge, which doesn't quite look necessary. ;)
Quoting Timothy Post
Nice job Cab, I gotta say I like Enalica dude the best. Though quick question, is there a reason why there is are 2 plates sticking out of the bottom of the first 2 Mosaics in the main pic?
