LEGO Slot Car Chassis WIP Version 2
About this creation
There is still a lot of work to do but here is a WIP Version 2. This is 1/24th scale according to the below picture of an actual chassis. The white is a simulated version of the pictured non-Lego slot car base.

This is a picture of a base with slot car parts installed that I found online, I cannot seem to find too much more information on it. I actually have one of the chassis but without any slot car parts.

Quoting Clayton Marchetti In case you haven't noticed lego ain't cheap either ha ha ha! And your combining bothe worlds. These cars are pretty straight forward. Pin with the leads to the motor. I think the hard part is how to make the shaft from the motor to turn the gear for the wheels. You may need to use non Lego wheels and axel. Then I think the weight of the Lego is going to really slow it up.
Hey Clayton my friend, you are correct. I bought an RTR (Ready to run) chassis with the works from a place called Professor Motor a few hours before you commented. It was less than buying the parts separately. I will build one for the one chassis something like this one then I will try something different for the metal chassis. http://www.professormotor.com/product-p/hrch04.htm

Quoting Jimmie Martinez Yes we did but I heard that membership in the club fell and they disbanded it about 8 years ago. You can still see the track in the basement of the Christmas store. It was a fairly large road style course. The also used to sell model railroad stuff too. Sad I would have liked to have seen them run. The big thing down here is RC cars, choppers and planes. I'll take LEGO every day and twice on Saturdays.
Hey Jimmie my good friend! Thank you for checking it out for me. I'll take Lego too! LOL

Quoting Scott Bourgeois Very cool. I'm hitting a brick wall with my hobby contacts so far, but I've got a few new leads to try.
Hey Scott, thanks for the "Very cool"! I appreciate your help! I am interested in getting information on smaller chassis also.

Quoting Jimmie Martinez Slick design Oran. Very sleek, but has lots of detail. BOAJVWD.
Hey Jimmie my good friend, thank you so very much. Do you have any 1/24th scale slot car tracks in your neck of the woods?

Quoting TheGarageBoy (Mitchell Smith) Interesting concept and design! It's something I've never seen before. Keep up the great work, Oran!
Hey Mitchell, thanks! I had a request to build a "shell" for this type of 1/24th slot car chassis and I ran into problems because the local hobby shop does not have their slot car track setup anymore and not enough 1/24th scale slot car parts available here locally, so I am having to dig up more information about slot cars from wherever I can. Having to design around an existing chassis is a little problem but I will be putting my imagination to work around the "problems"! LOL
